Before today’s U13s fixture between Corby Warriors Hurricanes and Irchester Romans, both teams came together for a heartfelt minute’s applause for young Max Hall.

Two teams, one community, standing together in support of Max, his family and everyone who knew and loved him.

Corby Warriors Falcons U12s 0-2 Corby Hellenic Thunder U12s

Corby Warriors Falcons U12s began their new season with a hard-fought match against Corby Hellenic Thunder U12s. While the final score ended in a 2-0 defeat, the Falcons can count themselves unlucky after matching their opponents for large periods of the game and producing many encouraging signs for the season ahead.

Before kick-off, both teams gathered respectfully around the centre circle for a minute's applause in memory of Max Hall, Forever 14, creating a touching and emotional moment as everyone paid tribute.

When the match got underway, the Falcons settled quickly and produced some excellent passages of football throughout the first half. Moving the ball well and working hard for one another, they created promising opportunities but were unable to find the finishing touch their play deserved. Hellenic Thunder proved more clinical in front of goal and managed to take one of their chances, giving them a 1-0 lead going into half-time.

The second half followed a similar pattern, with the Falcons continuing to compete strongly and showing great determination. Their football remained positive and they pushed forward in search of an equaliser, but despite their efforts, the vital goal would not come. Hellenic Thunder added a second goal to secure the victory, although the scoreline did not fully reflect how closely contested the game was.

A standout performer for the Falcons was Max, who led much of the team's attacking play and never stopped working for the cause. His energy, skill and determination earned him a deserved Player of the Match award.

Special praise also goes to captain Charlie, who led by example throughout the game. Constantly organising his teammates, offering encouragement and communicating well on the pitch.

Although the result was not what the Falcons were hoping for, there were plenty of positives to take from the performance. The effort, teamwork and quality of football on display provide a strong foundation to build on as the season progresses, and if they continue to perform in the same manner, results will surely follow.

⚽ MATCH REPORT | Weetabix League Division 3 U13s

Corby Warriors Hurricanes U13s 0–3 Irchester Romans U13s

The first game of the season saw the Hurricanes travel to Irchester Romans, and despite the final score, there were plenty of positives to take from the performance.

The Hurricanes started brightly, playing some really good football and creating chances. However, the Irchester defence did a good job of keeping our opportunities largely to efforts from distance.

As the half progressed, Irchester began to find some space behind our high defensive line, but Oscar in goal was equal to the task, making a couple of smart saves to keep the score level.

Half-time: 0–0

The second half started a little scrappily. On 45 minutes, Irchester continued to press and capitalised on a defensive mistake to take the lead, making it 0–1.

Just five minutes later, another mistake allowed the Irchester striker to win the ball just outside the area, and he finished well to make it 0–2.

With 15 minutes remaining, the Hurricanes were chasing the game but continued to play some really good football. The ball dropped in the area for Max, who finished brilliantly, only for the referee to award a foul on a defender before Max got to the ball. The goal was disallowed, and it remained 0–2.

The Hurricanes regrouped and went again. Thomas found the net, but unfortunately his run was mistimed and the goal was ruled out for offside.

Still pushing forward and searching for a way back into the game, the Hurricanes were caught by Irchester’s pace on the counter. Their striker broke through and made it 0–3.

Sometimes football can be a cruel game. The Hurricanes enjoyed the better of the possession for around three-quarters of the match and created plenty of opportunities, but unfortunately came away empty-handed.

There are plenty of positives to take from the performance, and the boys will dust themselves off, learn from it and go again. 💪⚽

Knights 1-2 Corby Sporting u12.
A great start from Knights applying the pressure from the off. A defensive mistake from Sporting led to Joseph slotting the ball home 1-0. Chances came and went through the 1st half and Knights failed to capitalise on a very strong performance 1-0 ht. Sporting came out a lot stronger 2nd half and took the lead after a penalty 1-1. Knights kept up the pressure with some great football hitting the bar twice. But Sporting claimed a winner with 10 mins remaining. Knights were denied a goal when Alfie Forster had a goal disallowed for an apparent push, denying him a superb solo effort. 1-2 final score. Player of the match Joe Brennan. Came in and deputised for our keeper Dylan., and performed brilliantly. Thank you to our sponsor IY Commissioning Ltd.

Corby Warriors Trojans
Were invited to take part in the Desborough Town Tournament

The boys had a great afternoon playing some great football managing to reach the finals unbeaten

The final game we came up against a very organised Weekly Rovers Napoli team
Both teams had chances to win it in normal time

It ended up going to penalties Trojans losing 4-2 on the day

But a great team effort everyone gave 110%

Was great to see some of the new signings playing competitively for the first time

Some exiting times lay ahead for Corby Warriors Trojans
