Well folks I entered my very 1st comp yesterday at Hobson Golf. Started off foggy and cold but cleared to sunshine as tye day went.

Turns out I came 1st in Div 3 with 41 points.

Woop woop.

On to the next.

Well, before I depart this year for Hobson, this is my 2nd Day at Consett Front 9.....boy what a Day lol.....My worst but most entertaining round ever......

Well, I debated long and hard if I was even going to upload this. What a terrible effort from me. A Lifeless course on a beautiful windy Saturday afternoon...

Well what a year it's been folks. New Clubs, new balls, new shoes and new direction. Unfortunately it's coming to an end. Seems I've got one too many historical injuries surfacing that's preventing me from carrying on. From shoulders to wrist, knuckles knees and ankles........Consett took its toll on me for sure. Tights fairways littered with unforgiving lies and a slope that makes climbing Everest seem like a walk in the park. I'd hoped it would make me a better golfer, but I've gone backwards.

I started my journey in late 2022, revisiting Hobson Driving Range after an 8yr break. Banging balls out to reach 300 yards I thought i was a natural. I joined Consett in late 2023. I was managing to complete the front 9 on par, or 3 over 3 under, but it's wasn't to last. Since then I've had periodic absences coupled with inclement weather. I've also changed my clubs 7 times since September 2022......Yeah; 7 times!!!!!

My latest clubs; Mizuno JPX925 Hot Metal Pro. What beautiful irons Mizuno produce. Last year I had 3 Custom fittings. Each one directing me toward a Stiff shaft, but now with my shoulder and wrist issues, they're starting to feel a little heavy and unforgiving. Age has finally caught up with me.

So, for now, it's Good Bye. Maybe not forever, but I'll be leaving Consett Golf Club and heading for Hobson. The use of putting green, chipping area and range, as well as flatter landscape makes it a no brainer for me. I need time to rehabilitate. Find my pace again and bring my handicap down to a more respectable level.

Keep the faith folks. Golf is an amazing sport or pastime. Health, mood and social bonuses too.
