💔 The family of a teenager who sadly died after she was struck by a vehicle in Gateshead say they are ‘broken into a million pieces’ following her death.
At 10.40pm on Friday, June 12, we received a report via the ambulance service of a collision on Lobley Hill Road, close to the junction with Schoolhouse Lane.
Emergency services attended where it was reported a girl – who can today be named as 16-year-old Jessica Metters of Consett in County Durham – had been struck by a silver Ford Fiesta.
Jessica was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital for treatment of serious injuries but she sadly died a short time later.
💬 In a tribute to Jessica, her family said today: “We have lost our beautiful baby. Words can’t describe the pain we are suffering.
“Jessica was the most loving, precious innocent little girl and cared so deeply for her loved ones.
“She lit up every room she walked in and always made a good situation out of a bad one, with that cheeky little smile and most beautiful eyes.
“Our hearts hurt so bad without her here with us, we miss her so much already.
“Our family is broken into a million pieces.”
