Commiserations to our girls who suffered their first defeat of the season at the hands of Mynydd Isa today.

We want to say a huge congratulations to Mynydd Isa Ladies Football Team for their cup win and thank you for the great games this season.

We want to thank everyone who came out and supported us this season. But also say a huge thank you to our players and all of their efforts. You continue to make us proud every day. As a group, we have so much to be proud of this season.

It's time for a short break before we prepare for some summer tournaments. We have plenty to be excited about.

Here we go!

On Sunday CPD are playing in the NEWFA Women’s Recreational Cup 25/26 Final and we face Mynydd Isa Ladies Football Team. The game is being held at Brymbo Sports & Social Complex Ltd, Sports & Social Complex, College Hill, Tanyfron, Brymbo, Wrexham LL11 5TF .

Everyone at the club is so proud of this team and our ladies have worked their socks off all season to be crowned league champions but then also reach their first ever cup final.

Head down to Brymbo in all the purple clothes you can find and show our ladies the support they deserve. Let's give every player the atmosphere they've worked so hard for 💜💪

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of playing in our NEWFA Women's Recreational Cup Semi-final against Hawarden.

Nerves were buzzing around both teams as they warmed up on the bright, sunny pitch down at Deeside Leisure Centre.

Cei Connah started strong; Stacy linked up with our captain, Leanne, to give us an early 1-0 lead.

The wingers’ and strikers’ link-up play for Cei looked seamless and proved crucial when Amber set Stacy free to push our advantage to 2-0.

Hawarden didn't let the goals knock their confidence. Their usual fabulous link-up play proved difficult for Cei to control as they hit back with two goals before the halftime whistle, pulling the score back to 2-2.

A brilliant second half followed for any neutral as a tactical game unfolded between two tough teams. Cei's quick midfield football paid off when Becca set super-striker Stacy free to give us a 3-2 lead. However, Hawarden’s tricky play proved difficult again as they pulled the score back level to 3-3.

Stacy showed that she can also add "playmaker" to her football skills when she set Leanne free to give Cei the lead once more at 4-3.

Hawarden quickly regrouped and brought the game to 4-4 when Hawarden’s Rebecca Davies scored her fourth goal of the game.

With both teams refusing to back down or let the heat get to them, what followed were multiple chances and goal-line scrambles for both sides.

Our wingers' energy and Stacy's tenacity proved to be the decider. Leanne assisted with a lovely long ball, setting Stacy free; she had to beat two defenders in a close battle before sealing the game for Cei Connah by smashing the ball into the bottom corner.

Our nerves finally settled when the full-time whistle blew, ending in a 5-4 win for Cei Connah. 💜

Yesterday we were hosted by Coedpoeth United FC Women for our 2nd game in the NEWFA Cup. 🏆

In tough conditions and on a difficult pitch, it was a battling performance that showed real character from the team.

Both goals followed an almost identical pattern in either half a perfectly weighted through ball from Chloe splitting the defence and finding Stacy in stride. She made no mistake on either occasion, finishing clinically to give us the edge.

We created plenty of chances in the first half and could easily have added to the scoreline. The movement and link-up play going forward caused problems throughout.

The second half was a different contest as the opposition came out fighting and made it a tough test. However, our defence stood firm under pressure, showing resilience and composure to protect the lead. It was a disciplined and determined display at the back when it mattered most.

Special congratulations to Stacy on reaching an incredible milestone of 30 goals for the season a fantastic achievement and a testament to her consistency and quality in front of goal.

Yesterday we hosted Northop Hall Girls & Ladies FC in our final league match, ending 4-1 to Cei Connah.

Northop were quick off the mark with their runs in behind our defence and managed to score within the first 10 minutes. Our defence did a great job reading the warning signs and kept it tight at the back from then on.

We came back shortly after at 12 mins with a brilliant corner from Amber which ended up in the back of the net with a bit of help from Laura. Stacy then inevitably got her first goal 20 minutes in, assisted by Laura.

Second half started with keeper Louise starting outfield and scoring a goal in the first 5 minutes assisted by goal keeper Laura who sent it long to Louise, who was hanging off the last man.

Becca finished the scoring for the day when Louise found her in space 20 yards out from goal. A brilliant shot saw us lead and finish the game at 4-1.

This marked our final league game as league champions. It's been a fantastic season of growth, lessons - and wins 🥳

Everyone who played a part in this team throughout the season should be extremely proud of their achievement. Unbeaten all season in only our 2nd season together 💜

CPD Cei Connah Ladies hosted Mynydd Isa Ladies Football Team for their first ever game in the NEWFA Women's Recreational Cup.

The conditions were cold and the pitch felt heavy due to the constant rain throughout the night. That didn't stop the rivalry heating up on the pitch though. Both teams started strong with the goalies being tested early on. Chloe's shot was rebounded away by Isa's defender before our winger Leanne, gambled a shot which gave Cei the stronghold in the match giving us an early 1-0 lead.

The game continued to be a tough physical match with both sets of defenders being tested throughout the half. Cei's midfield proved that their strong link up play was paying off when Leanne assisted Stacy to give us a 2-0 advantage before half time.

The weather didn't stop making the conditions harsh but Cei continued to turn up the heat against Isa. Stacy laid off the ball outside of the box before Chloe rocketed the ball into the net to give Cei a 3-0 lead.

A special mention has to go out to Cei Connah's defence who were being tested alongside our goalie, but striker Stacy scored another 3 goals within 9 minutes to truly put the game to bed, with two assists coming from Amber and the last assist from Goalkeeper Laura, who had spotted Stacy on the run and kicked a fantastic ball over every player to give Stacy a chance to finish.

Every single player on the field gave their all in miserable conditions. What a win! 🔥💪

Tuesday night was a monumental occasion for CPD Cei Connah Ladies. With the stakes clear: three points to seal the league title in only their second year of competition. The atmosphere was electric.

The game opened with some visible nerves, as Hawarden started strong. They immediately tested the Cei backline, forcing goalkeeper Louise into several crucial saves to keep the scoreline level.

However, Cei soon found their rhythm through the wings. Leanne exploited the space on the left flank, putting immense pressure on the Hawarden defense. The breakthrough came when a calm, pinpoint pass from the Captain, Leanne found Stacy, who tapped it home to give Cei the lead.

Despite Hawarden’s smooth passing and dangerous counter-attacks, Cei stayed aggressive in their pressing. After Leanne saw a shot blocked, Stacy reacted quickest to reclaim possession and drill the ball into the bottom corner, sending the team into the break with a 2-0 lead.

Cei maintained the pressure, earning a string of corners. Defender Terri came inches from adding a third, with a powerful header just skimming over the crossbar.

The momentum stayed with the home side as Stacy shifted out wide. She delivered a perfect square ball to the edge of the box, where Chloe unleashed a clinical strike into the back of the net to make it 3-0.

The scoring was rounded off following a brilliant run by Deryn on the right wing. Her searching cross caused a scramble in the box, which Stacy navigated expertly to curl the ball into the bottom corner, completing her hat-trick and a 4-0 victory.

The result confirms that Cei mathematically cannot be caught at the top of the table, securing their first-ever league title. The team took a moment on the pitch to celebrate their achievement. 🏆
