Hi All, Since I had to close the club I have a large amount of training equipment and clothing available. Some of it is new, like Gi's, others like the punch bags and books are used. If you would like to buy anything kindly let me know.

Hi Everyone, Firstly let me apologise for not letting people know what was going on. It has been a difficult couple of years for me and no doubt others as well. It is with great sadness that I have to let you all know that I am having to close NEWTS. Covid19, like a lot of places, hit us hard. More to the point though, I have been struggling with injuries and illness. The short version is that I have had one operation on a knee and am waiting for another one for the other knee. I have also have been diagnosed with a lung condition. This effects my breathing and exercise makes it worse. There is something else wrong but they do not know what is causing it and I have more tests to go to. The upshot is, that I am just unable to physically train or teach anymore. We had a good run with NEWTS and a lot of students trained with us at our clubs in Marks Tey, Ardleigh and Highwoods. It would have been great to have managed to get the last higher grades through their Dan grading but I just am unable to do it. I hope that they continue and get there and if I can help please ask. I would like to thanks all the students, past and present and also the instructors for always making NEWTS a good place to train and for the dedication that was shown by all.

Hi All, Hopefully we will soon be able to start training again. In readiness for that I have taken and successfully completed the COVID Safe Martial Arts Instructor Certification. We can now have this logo for the club and I will have my certificate with me when we restart. Stay safe everyone.

Do not worry about the kata, it is Kanku Dai, look though at the techniques, timings and stances. Most of these appear in the katas that you are doing. Keep practising and I will try and send out some exercise sheets in the next couple of days.

I am sorry for not putting things on here earlier. I have actually been quite busy. Of the 4 engineers that cover the area that I work in, 3 have been out of action. Consequently I have been working days and nights for some weeks. It has slowed down now. Thank you to those who have been staying. It is appreciated. I will try and start to put ideas on here for people to try. I have also got some training regimes for children to do which I will sort out and email to people. Don't worry about what kata it is, look at timing and stances, the ones that you need for your katas are in this. She goes straight into her next move and her feet stay still once they are there. She looks where she is going and is focused.
