🎯 A GREAT EVENING OF COMPETITIVE DARTS! 🎯

Three Shooterz Darts Academy players were in action in Pockets League One, with Hendrix Patrick, Owen Dooley and Sam Hudson all putting in excellent performances.

🎯 QUARTER-FINALS

Hendrix Patrick vs Owen Dooley

Two Shooterz players went head-to-head in the quarter-finals, and it proved to be a fantastic contest.

Owen raced into an early 2–0 lead in the race to three, producing some excellent finishing. Hendrix continued to score well and battled his way back into the match, levelling at 2–2 to force a deciding leg.

Hendrix then opened the decider with three consecutive 100 scores — 100, 100, 100 — putting himself in a commanding position before taking the leg in 16 darts to secure a 3–2 victory.

Great sportsmanship followed, with Hendrix immediately turning to Owen and shaking his hand after a brilliant game between the two academy players. 👏

Sam Hudson vs Elliot Spencer

Sam produced a strong and controlled performance in his quarter-final, securing a 3–1 victory over Elliot Spencer and setting up an all-Shooterz semi-final against Hendrix.

🔥 SEMI-FINAL — SAM vs HENDRIX

Sam started strongly and took the opening leg. Hendrix struggled initially to find the trebles but stayed composed and fought back to level.

Sam took the third before Hendrix responded again in the fourth, sending another Shooterz match into a deciding fifth leg.

With Sam throwing first, both players scored well and stayed close throughout. Sam left 32 for the match, with Hendrix back on 118.

Hendrix stepped up and produced a superb 118 checkout in three darts to take the match 3–2 and progress to the final.

A fantastic performance from both players in a high-quality and competitive semi-final. 🎯👏

🏆 FINAL — HENDRIX vs OLLY HALL

In the final, Hendrix faced an in-form Olly Hall, a previous League One nightly winner.

Olly came flying out of the blocks with some impressive scoring to establish a commanding 2–0 lead.

But Hurricane Hen refused to give in. 🌪️🎯

Hendrix battled his way back to 2–2, with the 9-year-old taking 16-year-old Olly all the way to a final-leg decider.

Both players started the deciding leg well, but Olly found the crucial trebles to give himself the first opportunity at a finish. On his second attempt, he found the winning double to claim his second League One nightly victory.

A brilliant contest and a fantastic effort from Hurricane Hen to push an experienced and in-form opponent all the way.

👏 Congratulations to Olly on the win, and a huge well done to Hendrix, Sam and Owen for representing Shooterz Darts Academy so well.

Excellent darts, great determination and, most importantly, fantastic sportsmanship throughout.

🎯 PLAYER OF THE WEEK – CODY DOOLEY 🎯

Congratulations to Cody Dooley, our Player of the Week from last week! 👏🏆

Usually, we present the previous week’s Player of the Week certificate at the following academy session. However, on this occasion, Academy Director Paddy felt Cody deserved a special delivery and personally presented his certificate to him at home. 🎯

It’s also a special weekend for the Dooley brothers, with Owen celebrating his birthday today and Cody celebrating his on Sunday! 🎂🎉

A very Happy Birthday to Owen and Cody from everyone at Shooterz Darts Academy. We hope you both have a fantastic weekend!

🎯 SHOOTERZ UP A LEVEL 🎯

Tonight’s academy session saw the launch of our brand-new Shooterz Up a Level challenge!

This will run alongside our weekly JDC gradings, with every player receiving one attempt per week to successfully Shoot Up a Level.

There are currently five levels:

1. Foundation
2. Development
3. Advanced
4. Tour Card
5. Pro

Each time a player successfully completes a level, they’ll receive a Shooterz Up a Level certificate before progressing to the next challenge.

The ultimate goal is to work through all five stages and reach PRO LEVEL! 🏆

The challenge gives every academy player, regardless of their current ability, an individual target to work towards and another way to measure their progress alongside their weekly JDC gradings.

All three successfully completed Foundation Level at their very first attempt tonight and will move on to attempt Development Level next week. 👏

🏅 PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Tonight also saw the introduction of our new Shooterz Player of the Week certificate.

This award won’t necessarily go to the player with the highest score. Our coaches will select someone who has really caught our eye during the session for any number of reasons, including:

• Effort and attitude
• Improvement
• Consistency
• Concentration
• Throwing and technical skills
• Numeracy and checkout knowledge
• Sportsmanship
• Or simply something that has really stood out during the session

We want every player to have the opportunity to earn this award.

This week’s Player of the Week is Robert Marlow! 🏅👏

Robert stood out after achieving his best grading score yet. We also hear he had a little side bet with his dad involving some new darts accessories!

Well done, Robert — not only on earning Player of the Week, but also on getting one over on Dad! 🎯😂

💯 SHOOTERZ 180 CERTIFICATE

Hitting the maximum 180 is something every darts player strives for, and we believe it deserves to be recognised whenever it happens during an academy session.

Tonight that honour went to Jamie Pitt, who produced a brilliant 180 and became the latest player to receive our Shooterz 180 Certificate.

A massive well done to everyone for another enjoyable academy session.

Who will Shoot Up a Level next week? 🎯🏆

Academy Director Paddy, Coach Robo, and academy players Hendrix & Jackson’s South African tour is coming to an end. Today, we begin the journey home, ready to get back behind the oche for tomorrow evening’s academy session!

During our time in South Africa, we picked up a dartboard in Cape Town, which has travelled with us on our journey across the Western and Eastern Cape. There have been plenty of practice sessions, competitive games and, of course, a few 180s along the way! 🎯💯

Rather than bring the board home, we’ve decided to leave it behind in South Africa. Hopefully, it will continue to get plenty of use from fellow darts fans — and leave a little piece of Shooterz Darts Academy behind on the other side of the world! 🇿🇦🎯

A fantastic trip, some brilliant memories, and now it’s time to get back to the academy! 🎯
