Environment beats all!

Having a group of like minded individuals all pushing each other to be better versions of themselves both in and out the gym will triumph over any programming!

A perfect training environment is different for everyone but once you find out what works for you your training will fly!

Over the last 6 weeks I’ve been running a free nutrition challenge aimed at losing weight whilst keeping energy levels and balance at an all time high! With no restrictions on specific foods but just bringing awareness and educating them on what a balanced diet looked like! From the group who participated a combined total of 42.5kg in total being lost which is a combined total of 112kg over the last two nutrition challenges! It's safe to say this process works!

What have you got to lose?

A quote I like is if you haven't failed you haven't tried anything new and when it comes to functional fitness we are trying new things all the time and failing is part of learning.

Trying and failing is allowed and good for getting better in this sport, not trying at all is criminal.

The worst that happens is you miss the lift which you wouldn't have hit if you hadn't tried anyway but if you just commit to it and give it your best shot you might surprise yourself and walk away with a PB!

You're allowed to doubt yourself at first as some of the tasks are daunting at scary but the more you just try regardless the more you'll learn to back yourself and the better athlete you'll become for it.

I see people make this mistake so often!And I even do it myself sometimes, coming into the gym at 6:30 am in the morning...

I see people make this mistake so often!

And I even do it myself sometimes, coming into the gym at 6:30 am in the morning (more like 9 am for me) and as soon as you walk through the door you say oh I'm so tired or I'm cold or I'm sore.

Even something is simple as that has already negatively impacted your session by getting you to dwell on a negative.
Now that's not to say you aren't allowed to be sore or tired but voicing it out loud certainly isn't going to help you, instead focus on what you can do to warm up or stretch so that you no longer feel that way which will have a much better impact on your training!

We all have bad days in the gym!

This is part of training unfortunately and sometimes whether a session is feeling good or bad is out of our control! This being said we can control how we respond to it.

If you're failing 80% snatches that you normally hit with ease getting frustrated with yourself is not going to help you hit the next rep, you can control how you respond to the failed rep by focusing on what's going wrong and how you can fix it!

Even after all that if still you're missing lifts just take some weight off the bar and hit some quality reps you'll be far better off hitting good reps at a lighter weight then dodgy/failed reps at a heavier one!

Your phone will not help with training!

Inspired by a post put up about this about a year ago ever since I have tried to leave my phone on the side in the gym.

1- it's a nice break from social media and having time not spent on your phone is good for you regardless

2- Your phone is not helping your training it is just a distraction allowing you to lose focus on what you should be focusing on

3- You end up spending too much time on your phone and then have too much rest and our losing out on intensity and purpose in your session

4- If you want to socialise talk to the people around you

Now I understand some people will need to go on their phone for various reasons e.g. texts from work, to check the programme etc
But it's so easy that once you pick up your phone you can't put it back down again. So if you can avoid it all together and your training will see an improvement!
Ps- Filming for technique is allowed just don't turn your phone on go into camera from the lockscreen

70kg lost 🤯🤯

Over the last 6 weeks I’ve been running a nutrition challenge for the members out of the 23 people that completed the challenge 100% of them lost weight losing a combined total of 70kg in total which is absolutely bonkers everyone who participated felt like they know have a better understanding of nutrition!
