Well that was blooming hot! 🥵

And a training session I was reluctant to start…

But it turns out though that my dodgy joints love this heat! 😍

▪️First pain free training session in god know how many months.

▪️Back with 17kg TGU for first time in months.

▪️And a new Press PB!

I love the sun anyway - but even more so now!!

Last week saw some amazing PRESSING as we came to the end of our 2 term long Press progression and we tested our 1 Rep Max.

EVERYONE went up in weight and set new PBs!

And yet, some were not quite satisfied. And wanted more…

For some, there is still unfinished Press business!

And so this week’s planned end of term ‘Fun Week’ still features those heavy presses for those who want them… let’s see what we’ve got! 💪💥

It’s Press Test week this week!

We’re only half way through the week’s sessions and the results and progress so far have been EPIC!

I am so IMPRESSED! (No pun intended!) 🙄😂

Not wanting to spoil the final round up, but here’s a sneaky glimpse of a few of my wonderful kettlebell crew smashing their Press PBs and achieved a new Press 1 Rep Max.

Plenty more to come this week. And some of this lot will be training again so may have a crack at going heavier. I mean, why not?!

I love seeing how much people have improved during the programmed progression. Learning and dialling in good technique makes all the difference to a good heavy lift.

Full update to follow in the next week or so, but it’s been BRILLIANT so far! 👏 💪

I have a couple of Small Group Kettlebell Training spaces opening up from wc 1st June.

* Tuesday 5pm
* Wednesday 9.30 & 10.30am

🔸 7 week block through to summer holidays

▪️Strictly 5 people max per session

🔸 All sessions take place in my private gym

▪️Weights to support all abilities from ‘never lifted a thing’ to ‘experienced lifter’

🙌NEW TERM INCOMING🙌

As we near the end of the shortest term ever, we’re also coming towards the end of our wonderful* Press Progression

*Presses - do you LOVE or HATE them?!

Either way! Progress has been brilliant, steadily building volume each week to hit a pretty hefty number of sets, but low reps in each.

At the end of term we’ll test.
And see what we can do 1 Rep Max wise. I’m really looking forward to seeing the results!

After half term, our focus will shift to a new progression, taking us up to the summer holidays.

🎉 And for the first time in quite a while, I should also have some 🔸SPACES🔸 in Small Group Kettlebell sessions, if you are fancy joining us.

*Mon 5pm
*Tue 5pm
Others may emerge - message me for the latest view!

From 1 June

Strictly limited to 5 people per group - this gives a lovely social vibe with plenty of laughs and support from the rest of the group.
And also means I can give everyone plenty of 1-1 coaching and support.

And if you hate big gyms, that’s ok too!
All sessions take place in my private gym, so there is no one else here.

You do not need any fitness or experience to get started. Nor is age a barrier - members range from mid-teens to mid 70s!

CLEVEDON KETTLEBELLS - End of Term Round-Up

Wow, it’s been a while since I’ve posted…! 😬

Between coaching, training, life and health, doing stuff on socials has fallen way down my to do list. That said, of all those things, it’s by far the least important, so no apologies really! 🤭

I did just want to give a quick shout out to all my amazing Kettlebells members though - at the end of what has been a VERY STRONG term!

🍑 This week we reached the end of our Double Front SQUAT progression, which we started back in January.
And we have seen some serious PBs achieved over the last few days.
As well as great improvements in technique and confidence.

EVERYONE has increased the weights they are squatting; some people have doubled the weights they started with and a good number have squatted 1/2-3/4 of their bodyweight this week. Seriously impressed!!

A massive well done to everyone 👏

💪 This term, we also kicked off our PRESS programme, which will continue through to end of May.

Again, it’s been brilliant to see everyone starting to dial in their technique - especially around tension and breathing - and increase their press reps each week. I’m really looking forward to continuing this progression and seeing where we can get to with another few weeks training under our belts!

I am super chuffed and grateful that next term is another busy one, with all sessions full save for 🔸ONE last SPACE on a Wednesday 10.30am🔸

🌟KETTLEBELL Small Group Training Sessions🌟

VERY limited availability from after Easter (start wc 20th April) - I have just ONE SPACE

👉 Wednesday 10.30am

If you would like to start training with us, I have just one space for the next block of sessions starting after the Easter holidays.

This will be a 5 week block running through to May half term.

Max 5 (very lovely!) people per session so plenty of 1-1 coaching and support from the rest of the group.

If there is a session you cannot make, you are welcome to catch up in any other with space during that block.

All sessions take place in my private gym in Clevedon with a huge range of weights to suit all abilities.

Yes to this!! 💯

Training to look and feel good and keep us independent in old age is great.

Feeling the benefits in day to day life here and now is makes it feel even better!

Being a parent is tough.

Especially when the kids are little and they come with 14 tons of stuff you need to take everywhere.
Never mind carrying them around day in day out!

Being strong makes it all a bit easier.

And also helps us to prevent those injuries we so often pick up from always carrying a child and or their stuff on the same side!

Strength training is about living well.

Whatever phase of life you’re in 💪

Just a few pictures from last nights social…

What a fab evening!

It was great to spend time with all these lovely kettlebell members last night outside of training sessions.

We had a lovely evening catching up over drinks and nibbles at the beautiful in Clevedon, along with a talk by my wonderful friend and nutritionist Ruth about nutrition and lifestyle to support peri-menopause and menopause.

Her talk was really informative and helped to explain why we feel as we do and experience various symptoms, as well as a number of nutritional and lifestyle habits we can adopt to help.

A huge thank you to Ruth for sharing her knowledge and and for the wonderful venue. And to all my overly members who came along! Love my job 🥰

I love conversations like this after a session.

People often show up, particularly in evening sessions, tired, having had a tough day, a bit grumpy and p*ssed off and just not feeling it.

And then they go a smash out a brilliant session and surprise themselves with what they can do.

So this is just to say, even if you’ve had a rubbish day and are just not in the mood, show up anyway.

See what happens.

At worst, you did something. That’s a win.

And you got out of the house and saw some people who cheered you on and cheered you up.

And you might just have a brilliant session and completely re-write your day! (And need to tell all your friends!!)

Looking forward to seeing everyone back from this evening.

We’ll be carrying on our double front squats progression and presses are making a sneak re-appearance too. It’s going to be a fun one…
