Under 8 greens in action down at Cleator this morning agaisnt Workington Junior blacks.

Greens set of very strong and converted a few chances straight of the bat, playing some great football and was good to see them when in a 2v1 situation finding the player in space. Blacks playing with just the 5 players kept battling a scored a few goals of thier own and didnt make it easy for Celtic, But the greens kept going seeing a few different goal scorers today. Really good display and credit to Workington for battling to the end. πŸ‘πŸ‘

Well done both sets of kids. 🟒βšͺοΈπŸ€πŸ”΄βš«οΈ

Players of the game was....

Lennie P- A really strong performance in attack and defence, he was on it from the 1st whistle, strong running with the ball, beating players and scoring some great goals. Same defensively won lots of duels and snuffed out alot of Workingtons attacks. Well done Len πŸ‘

Danny D- Was great to see him playing with confidence and showing off his much improved dribbling, scoring goals after runs from his own half with some nice finishes. His tackling was also very good again today, capped off a great performance. Well done Danny.

Brodie T- we asked brodie to play a differnt role today as striker and he was closing people down, getting stuck into tackles, and twice was so close from getting his 1st goal. Its coming mate. Well done Brodie πŸ‘

The Greens back in action this morning through at Seaton.

Seaton setting off the stronger and capitalising a couple of mistakes, but seaton also played some nice football. The greens grew into the game as the game went on and got them selves a couple of goals also. Some good football on display from both teams and nice to get going after not playing a match for a few weeks. Thanks for the game seaton. πŸ‘πŸ‘

Opposition coaches player- Was Eden, nice to see her back she was very direct and showed great dribbling and got a her self a goal. Again worked hard as always. Well done.

Coaches player- Was Grayson, asked him to play alot of his minutes in defence, and positionally he was awesome, which is great for him as he usually like to sneak back up top. Dangerous all day with his passing. Well done.

We set the kids a challange before the game, whoever shows the best attitude, encouraging others, watching team when sub would be captain for the next month and that was Danny D showed great leadership qualities.

Player posters to follow when we have the sponsers in.

Late upload.

But, The Greens had a game Tuesday night against Whitehaven Amatuers, really good game, the greens set off like a steam train scoring a few goals early, but Amatuers came back into it in what would be a very tight, end to end game with the greens having more chances but not converting them, but what we are seeing is improvement and development, lots of good passing from the back, and trying to set each other up when in the final 3rd with lots of hard work to get back and help if we turn the ball over. Its coming bit by bit and its great to see. πŸ’ͺ

Opposition player was Grayson played some great minutes in defence and was looking to get attacks away when he could, also made some great recovery runs to stop attacks. Was composed to slot home his penalty. πŸ‘

Coaches player was Freddie D, again invloved much more in the game, making tackles and looking to run at defenders and in behind defences, loving his football at the minute. πŸ‘

Our Under 7 greens took on Whitehaven Amatuers last night in blustery conditions, but with all of them wrapped up well the game was played in good spirits.

We have been speaking to the kids about passing more and the importance of it, the greens have many strong runners with the ball, and tacklers so we have been trying to get them to pass more. Last night alot were getting thier heads up, and trying to pass, we turned the ball over a few times and conceded goals from it, but we dont care, the fact they were brave enough to try it was great to see, and it will come the more they do it. πŸ’š

Opposition coaches player was Eden T, she tried her hardest when in nets and when out, she was up and down the pitch, making tackles and some strong running was on display from deep. Was really unlucky not to get a goal after being foulded in the box and winning a penalty, she was unlucky not to convert it. Well done Eden πŸ‘

Coaches player was Rory M, he is one of the strongest tacklers in the team, and a strong runner with the ball, but last night he was getting his head up and trying to make a pass, that was a massive plus for me, even when they passes didnt always get to a team mate, he kept on trying and that will do him great in the weeks to come. Well done. πŸ‘

Blackpool cup completed for the Under 7 Greens!

Beaten on Penalties Saturday and Sunday in the plate Semi-Final, 2 identical games dominated the game, limited them to 1 shot across both games, but couldnt find the net, woodwork was as close as we came in both games. There was lots of tears, but it was soon forgotten about.

But the trip has been more than the football, the parents have bonded more, and the players bond and friendships have been galvanised, great trip it has been.

All players had a go and some good football was on display, the confidence, skill and determination is coming more and more as the months go on. We've punched above our weight all year, and we had to do it again, coming up against alot of classy teams, but thats the thing with this little bunch, the heads dont drop, no matter the score and that will bode well for the future when they grow, they get a little faster, and a little stronger. Its the long game and these kids will be just fine.

Coaches Players of the tournament was Orla C she didnt take a backward step across the two days, breaking up play, and trying to get us up the pitch, when playing out, then unbelievably brave when in nets making some good saves, and sweeping up any loose balls when we looked under attack. Class orls. πŸ™Œ

2nd player was a kid who just joined us a few months ago but settled really well and that was Lennie P, he covers every inch of the pitch, helping with attacks, and putting fires out with his tackling and ball recoveries, he is Mr Consistent now, always looking to pass if he can, a real team player. Well done Lenn πŸ™Œ

All the kids done us coaches and the parents proud.

Onto the next βšͺ️🟒

CMC Greens v Whitehaven Miners this morning at St.Bees indoors.

Greens were always going to be up against it playing a good team with some strong players. The greens battled all game and every quater, after the 1st two the scores were level. Game started to drift in Q3, and could of been worse if its wasnt for some brave goalkeeping from Freddie D, who rightly received a round of applause 3 or 4 times from both sets of parents and coaches in the sports hall for his saves.

Coaches player- Was Rory M, so strong at the back every week, gives 110% every game. Made some great tackles, also tried alot of passes to his striker today. Well done mate. πŸ‘

Opposition coaches player- Grayson W, very consistent player, and playing with confidence now, scored 3 today, it could of been 4, as a spare ball rolled onto the pitch and he smashed it in the top corner, which was funny to all watching. Well played pal πŸ‘

Well done everyone. βšͺοΈπŸŸ’πŸ‘

Greens training session tonight, tried abit of agility, duels and ball striking. All had a go and done really well.

Trainer of the week was Freddie D, for trying in all the drills, showing great awareness and communication. We are convinced he could do back flips if someone showed him, he is that explosive and agile for his age. Well done mate.
