I spent a day at a women’s success conference last week and came away thinking about the one thing that was not on the agenda.
The speakers were excellent. The content on personal branding, networking, social media, and AI was genuinely valuable and I took a lot away from the day. But I sat there for eight hours thinking about the gap between everything being taught in that room and the biological reality of the women sitting in it.
So many of the women there are in their 40s and 50s. They are ambitious, experienced, and working incredibly hard. And a significant number of them are also quietly dealing with disrupted sleep, inconsistent energy, brain fog, and a body that feels like it is working against them rather than for them. They are trying to build personal brands and grow businesses while their hormonal and metabolic health is running a completely different agenda in the background.
Your energy, your mental clarity, your ability to think sharply under pressure, to hold a room, to show up consistently at the level your ambitions require, all of it is downstream of your biology. Optimising your content strategy while ignoring your metabolic health is like upgrading your marketing while your infrastructure is falling apart.
The most successful women I know and work with have figured this out. They do not treat their health as something separate from their professional performance, they treat it as the foundation that EVERYTHING else is built on.
