A Friendly Reminder to Our Football Family As a New Season Approaches

Chulmleigh Youth FC is proudly run by volunteers. From coaches and managers to committee members, referees, first aiders, grounds staff and the people serving teas and coffees—everyone gives their time freely to provide football for our children.

Like every volunteer, they're doing their best while balancing work, family and other commitments.

We kindly ask everyone to remember this when watching matches, asking questions or offering feedback. A little patience, understanding and kindness go a long way.

If you'd like to help make a difference, we'd always love to welcome more volunteers. Many hands make light work, and every contribution—big or small—helps our club thrive.

Please support our volunteers as much as you support our players. Together, we create the positive environment our children deserve. ❤️⚽

We are looking for players for our u15 boys squad here at Chulmleigh YFC, we have a squad made up of players who are currently Yr8/9 so heading into Ur9/10 in September. We train on a Friday evening from 5-6pm.at Chulmleigh Pavilion EX18 7JL, Sunday matches. We did really well last year and are looking to continue this success into the season ahead. What a season!

During the 2025/26 season, Chulmleigh Youth FC has successfully secured thousands of pounds of external funding to invest back into grassroots football.

This funding has enabled us to purchase new training equipment, support pitch maintenance, grow girls' football, invest in coach and volunteer development, and help remove financial barriers so that more children can access grassroots football, regardless of their circumstances.

Every pound of grant funding secured is a pound that doesn't have to come from membership fees or fundraising, helping us keep football as accessible and affordable as possible for our families.

We're incredibly proud of what has been achieved this season and look forward to building on that success in 2026/27 ⚽

⚽ That's a wrap for Wildcats!💜

What a fantastic six weeks it's been!

Our Wildcats have been absolute superstars, turning up each week with huge smiles, endless enthusiasm and a willingness to have a go at everything we threw at them. We've survived sideways rain in gale-force winds, and we've finished with a session in the middle of a heatwave, but the girls have taken it all in their stride!

Jan and I have absolutely loved running the sessions and watching the girls grow in confidence, make new friends and develop their football skills week after week. It's been a pleasure to be part of their football journey.

A special thank you also goes to our young volunteers, Elise & Isabella, who gave up their Thursday evenings to help coach and inspire our younger players. They have been fantastic role models throughout the sessions.

We can't wait to welcome everyone back when Wildcats returns in September. Until then, have a wonderful summer, keep practising those football skills and, most importantly... keep having fun! ⚽💜

There's still time to join us, but we only have **4 spaces remaining** for this week's session!

FA Wildcats is a fun introduction to football for girls in Years 1–6, with a focus on making friends, building confidence and having fun in a relaxed environment.

📍 Chulmleigh Pavilion, Leigh Road, Chulmleigh
🕓 Thursdays | 4–5pm
💷 £3 per session (cash or card)
📅 4th, 11th, 18th & 25th June, 2nd & 9th July

🌟 Fun football for girls

⚽ Wildcats Football is Back! ⚽

Chulmleigh YFC is hoping to run a 6-week block of Girls Wildcats sessions from the first week of June through to the week ending 10th July.

📍 **Location:**
Chulmleigh Pavilion, Leigh Road

💷 **Cost:**
£3 per session (Come along to one session or join us for all 6!)

🕒 **Proposed session times:**
⚽ Tuesday: 4:30–5:30pm
OR
⚽ Thursday: 4:00–5:00pm

Wildcats, run through The Football Association, is a fun, non-competitive football programme for girls aged 5–11 (primary school age).

Sessions are all about:
✅ Having fun
✅ Building confidence
✅ Making friends
✅ Giving football a go in a relaxed environment
No experience needed at all 💜

As a volunteer-run club, these are currently the only time slots we’re able to offer.

⚽ Thursday sessions can definitely run with existing volunteers.

⚽ If Tuesday is the preferred option, we would need one or two parent volunteers to help support the sessions across the 6 weeks (no football knowledge needed — just enthusiasm!). We would arrange the appropriate The Football Association DBS checks.

The U16's had their NDYL cup final match on Friday 24th April and although they suffered a 1-0 defeat they did themselves and the club proud. To get to a cup final is an achievement but to play with the quality, intensity, passion and determination that they did was impressive.

In the words of Flavio the coach "Right up to the final whistle, they kept pushing. The effort, the teamwork, the attitude, spot on.
The only thing missing was that elusive goal. Truly humbled and proud by the lads performance and spirit throughout the game."

To quote the U16's no 1 commentator "I’ve loved every minute of watching these lads and it finishes with nothing but the very best of memories. Thanks to every single player for giving us parents such special memories, ones that will live forever."
