Very proud to feature in this fabulous preview for the Women’s Open at Royal Lytham. One minute in and you’ll see a young Lora cracking a driver, it was a real bonus to see this on another note, as I’m working on something in my game now, so great to compare.
Dame Laura narrates this word perfectly and reminds us of where we were and how far women’s golf has come.

I’ve played in several Women’s British Open’s here, my first one as a 16 year old but there is nothing quite like the build up to the men’s open championship. This was last nights dog walk.
Can’t wait.

Well I finally managed to get some practice in at S & A yesterday.
I’ve been home now since 29/04, played 3 times and I was feeling unrooted/unsettled as I just hadn’t had a few good practice sessions under my belt. I guess for me this feels like a mindfulness session or you could say watering the plants…….
I get plenty of ladies coming to me and saying they’ve played far too much competitive golf and feel burnt out by mid June!! So, just try to be mindful of that - it’s so worth it to just go play a few holes yourself, get on the short game area for an hour, it will feel like a hug to your yourself.

Congratulations to Claire, this is a fabulous step forward for women’s amateur golf and not before time.
I was lucky enough to know Claire in my amateur days and play alongside her and there is no nicer human than Claire. Delighted for Irish golf. Fabulous news ☘️

The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews has announced that Claire Dowling will become the first woman to serve as Captain in 2026/27, having been nominated by the Past Captains of the Club.

Claire will begin her year in office after the traditional Driving-in ceremony on the first tee of the Old Course later this year.

Once again a great opportunity to play one of finest courses EVER (I am a biased member!).
This years Lady Captain the lovely Lynne Sedley and myself are raising funds for ‘Bebe’s Hive’ which is a charity set up after the horrific killing of the three school girls murdered in Southport.
Bebe’s Hive supports children and families who have suffered unimaginable loss. Faced with unbearable grief Bebe’s parents somehow managed to think of others and set up this charity in memory of their beautiful little girl Bebe. Her life and light will continue to shine and bring peace and comfort to those facing heartbreaking loss.

So, place your bids folks. Two lucky people could soon be playing in a cracking 4 ball at the stunning S & A !!
