It was a great day of racing on Saturday for the Hilda Mitchell Cup with rowers taking part across all squads in our clubs with 2 crews from our recent learn to row courses also taking part. A tightly fought 3 way match between QBC, MAABC and PTRC. Congratulations to MAABC who won the cup by 2.5 points. The overall results were MAABC 22.5 points, QBC 20.5 points and PTRC 17points.

Hilda Mitchell Cup - Saturday 16 May 2026

The 2026 racing is a three-way match between Quintin Boat Club, Putney Town Rowing Club and Mortlake Anglian & Alpha Boat Club.

Racing starts 15:30, on the ebb tide, from the University of London Boathouse to Quintin Boat Club. 168 athletes will compete over 19 events.

The original Cup was presented by Hilda Mitchell in 1921 for annual competition between Quintin Boat Club and Ibis Boat Club.

The original site of Ibis RC is now home to Mortlake Anglian & Alpha Boat Club.

Hilda Mitchell married Frederick Gilbert ’Tiny’ Mitchell in 1911. Frederick was a member and generous supporter of Quintin Boat Club.

Thanks to everyone who has helped organise this great event and we look forward to a fantastic day of racing.
