A fantastic start to the Chippenham Games 2026 with speeches from Paul Harvey (site manager), Mark Smith (Chippenham Town Council Chief Executive) and the headteachers of Abbeyfield and Hardenhuish who officially opened this year’s event.
It was great to see Mr Norgrove and Mrs Percy welcoming students for a celebration of sport, teamwork and community spirit.

Sports Development Support and Venue Bookings Officer
Full time | £31,537 – £32,597

Reporting to the Head of Leisure Services, this role will promote participation in sport within the community and manage administrative activities relating to the booking of Stanley Park Sports Ground. It will support the continued development of the site, and offer an excellent customer experience, sharing information on available activities.

Groundsperson
Full time | £27,694 – £29,540.

Reporting to the Head Groundsman, the role will support an existing team with an all-year-round maintenance programme. This can be physical and challenging work in all weathers, so flexibility is key, and a driving licence is required.

With the football season now finished, attention has turned to our yearly pitch renovation work.
Groundstaff have begun essential maintenance work, including the application of sand to help improve drainage, strengthen the surface, and promote healthy grass growth.
