Stockton Town Tournament
A very depleted squad made the trip to Stockton for the Game of Tournaments cup yesterday.
Game 1.
Took the lead early from a lovely ball from Reggie found Archie in the box. Reggie nearly doubled the lead with another beautiful cross come shot.
The opposition managed to grab a couple of goals but Archie made it level from spot. 2-2
Game 2
The boys found their stride and put on a fantastic performance. Archie and Reggie grabbing hat tricks with Reggie scoring an absolute worldy from the right wing.
A clean sheet for Tommy and George, who also got himself an assist. Oliver also recorded his first assist taking the ball down from an awkward angle and getting it into the path of Archie.
And Dylan made it 7 with a great free kick. 7-0
Game 3.
A game against the girls proved to be a tough test. Despite taking an early lead from a a great Archie/ Dylan goal, the lads had to really work hard to keep their lead.
An end to end game with great passing and strong tackles from both sides. 1-0
Game 4.
Started off as we'd finished the previous game, decent passing and some shots on target but tiredness, illness and injury hit. George came off feeling unwell before Dylan picked up a calf injury. Without any subs, he was forced to carry on as best he could.
Unfortunately we couldn't turn the game around. 0-2
Semi Final.
A game where we had over 10 shots on target but thanks to great goalkeeping, and some very solid woodwork the final whistle blew at 0-0 taking it to dreaded penalties.
Unfortunately that's where the day ended for the boys. Our opponents went on to win the final on pens too.
A good day out and plenty of minutes for all the team.
