Royal Sussex Regimental Association The Royal Sussex Regiment Association. News & Events. Help us raise £60,000 for a monument to commemorate the 7302 officers & men lost in the Great War.

The Royal Sussex Regiment was an infantry regiment of the British Army from 1881 to 1966. The regiment was formed as part of the Childers reforms by the amalgamation of the 35th (Royal Sussex) Regiment of Foot and the 107th Regiment of Foot (Bengal Light Infantry). Its lineage is continued today by the Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment. We are commemorating the roll of the Regiment in the First W

orld War with a memorial to be unvielved in Priez, France - the site of the first Regimental losses of the War. All 7302 officers and men will be remembered at the unveiling of this monument 100 years after the first action.
