🧡🖤 Volunteers’ Week 🖤🧡

This Volunteers’ Week, we’d like to say a huge thank you to two people who give up countless hours behind the scenes for our players, club and community – Rich and Kev.

From planning training sessions and matchdays, to supporting every player on their football journey, their commitment, patience and passion never go unnoticed. Whatever the weather, whatever the challenge, they are always there giving their time to help our children learn, develop and most importantly, enjoy their football.

Grassroots football simply wouldn’t exist without volunteers like Rich and Kev. Their dedication helps create opportunities, build confidence, encourage teamwork and make lasting memories for all of our Bears.

On behalf of all the players, parents and families at Wingerworth Bears, thank you for everything you do.

🏆🤩 Player of the Match – Saturday’s Game 🤩🏆

This award could have gone to a number of players after a great team performance on Saturday, but the standout player was Oscar.

Oscar worked tirelessly in midfield, winning the ball and driving the team forward. He capped off his performance with two goals, including an incredible free-kick from the halfway line that left everyone amazed.

He looked dangerous every time he attacked down the wing and was a constant threat throughout the game. In the second half, he also stepped into goal and produced some excellent saves, helping to keep the score down and showing fantastic commitment to the team.

An outstanding all-round display and a well-deserved Player of the Match award.

🌟 Player of the Match 🌟

Today’s POTM goes to Walter #10 ⚽🏆

What a performance from start to finish! In the first half Walter made some brilliant saves, showed confidence catching the ball and played out from the back really well. But it was his second half performance that truly changed the game for us.

His energy, determination and nonstop work rate lifted the whole team and sparked an unbelievable comeback! To top it all off, he got himself on the scoresheet twice — the perfect reward for all his hard work.

Fully deserved today, super proud of you Walter! 💪🧡🖤

Mud on the socks, smiles on their faces,
Learning about teamwork in wide open spaces.

No roaring crowds or bright stadium lights,
Just friends and football on cool summer nights.
Coaches on sidelines, proud and still,
Watching young hearts chase passion and skill.

Grass roots football is more than a game,
It’s laughter, friendship, and knowing each name.
The memories made on fields like these

Mondays trainer(s) of the week 🥁🥁🥁

This one went to the whole team!! 🤩🤩

With having a midweek friendly, we decided to go straight into a match and split the teams as evenly as possible.

Before the game, we spoke to the boys about keeping football simple — passing, moving, communicating and working together as a team. Every single player showed exactly how capable they are.

The football on display was brilliant. Playing out from the back, the link-up play was excellent, and time after time it only took 3 or 4 passes before the striker was through on goal to calmly slot it past the keeper — and both teams were doing it! ⚽️👏

It was a fantastic all-round training session and both coaches feel every player took something positive away from it.

With only 2 league games left of our very first season together, it’s been amazing to see just how much progress the boys have made individually and as a team.

Well done Bears 🐻🐻

Saturday’s Player of the Match goes to Arthur! 🌟

Arthur was outstanding from start to finish, giving 100% all game and showing great determination. He made some crucial tackles when the team needed him most and worked tirelessly for every ball. His positioning, effort, and teamwork were brilliant, and he never stopped battling for his teammates.

On top of his defensive work, Arthur stayed calm on the ball and made some excellent passes to help drive the team forward. A fantastic all-round performance and fully deserved today’s award.

Well done Arthur — keep up the great work! 👏🧡🖤
