Weekend match report incoming .....

Byron tap 1-3 FC SPIRE

This morning the lads made the short trip to Bolsover to face TAP who sat just above us in the league. We knew what to expect today physical tough hardworking game and that’s exactly what we got.
Cagey first 10 minutes both teams finding there feet but it was spire breaking the deadlock with Harvey finishing across the goalkeep bottom corner 1-0 the lad is on fire atm.
Shortly after wards from our own corner (Azza dreadful delivery) tap counter attacked at pace rounded the keeper hit the post then cleared off the line by Kai only to hit our own defender and go in then net 1-1 half time.

Second half a few changes keep the legs fresh and change of formation to provide support up top to Vik.

This allowed us to be on the front foot more after TAP had a slow start, the game was very cagey aswell with both sides not wanting to give anything away, we managed to hit TAP on the break with nay watts playing a ball through and Harvey pushing the ball on with a part of his body to then square it across for Kyle martin to put the ball into the back of the net. A few more changes saw ridgeway on for Sean and then Kie back on for palmer, possession broke down numerous times allowing tap to gain ground but never troubled Jak in goal, with possession being dominated we broke forward again and Vik found himself with a Tap in goal. 3-1 to SPIRE after a resounding win against a very physical side.

All the best to Byron Tap for the remainder of the season

Fc spire 10-0 Barlbrough

Absolute domination from the lads yesterday.
A hatrick for cazza a beautiful half volley from 30 yards keeper may as well have been a spectacular just watching it fly past him.
His second not a clue tbf but his 3 was trademark cazza back post from a corner bullet header hatrick complete.
Clean sheet for jak and bradders,
Jak (keeper) had a stint at RWB second half even managed to contribute with a goal him self cutting in and placing bottom corner lovely finish.
Special mention to the old dog Oxley getting on the score sheet. Keep up the fitness work you soon be back to you best😂.

...........MATCH REPORT INCOMING .........

This Sunday we played Eastwood Albion. So we managed to get the game reversed as the fixture was ment to be away, so it was up to us to make the most of the home advantage, and knowing the opposition had a bare 11 men. After a good warm up and a different squad formation everyone knew what was needed to make the win happen.

We started the game slow, first 15/20 minutes even though we showed glimpses of good play we could really make a good inroad into their defence. Eastwood didn’t really show any threat to our goal but we knew we could switch off, and a break down in the centre of midfield allowed us to pick the ball up on the edge of the box and Harvey decided he was going to sweep the ball home with a curling effort, post and in. That was the goal we needed. After more possesion domination we managed to gain the second when Nay Watts decided to go for a solo effort from 20ish yards out on the corner of the area and struck in near post as it crept in under the keepers hands. 2-0 Fc Spire and we were looking good. Play carried on and a little bit of decent play from there resulted in a few corners but they couldn’t capitalise. As the 1st half went on we got corner after corner and eventually a Matt Robert’s left footed corner swung into the middle of the box and Josh Adam’s met the header above everyone to guide it into the goal. 3-0 spire, that’s how the 1st half ended with an Eastwood side showing heavy legs at time due to the bare 11 men.

2nd half we knew would be a different half, them coming out looking for a goal to try and turn the game around and us having to make sure we kept the pressure on without making mistakes. We were slow in transitions at times and we allowed them to have more of the ball than we should have but they couldn’t capitalise break through a back line that’s been solid all game. We carried on the pressure and after a good passage of play Liam Carrington decided to press with the ball and from about 30/35 yards out on the angle decided to had a go and absolutely beautifully bent one into the far corner over the keeper. 4-0 spire and the game dead a buried all we needed to do now was keep a clean sheet against a team that had scored in every game before that. After numerous substitutions we carried on with hard tackles flying in from both sides, their striker had a chance and Jak was equal to it after being stood on by their player. Corners for Eastwood made Spire sweat a little but with good marking and every player knowing their job they weren’t able to tak advantage of the situations. With around 20 minutes to go Substitute again from Spire saw Olly Vardy come on for a rare appearance and he put himself about and with another great passage of play the ball went from CB, to midfield to winger to cm, to winger and the ball played in to the 6 yard box where you guessed it Olly Vardy managed to pounce and put the ball though the defenders legs to make it 5-0 spire. With the clock ticking down and Eastwood having one more chance to score they took a shot from 30 yards, with the ball dipping towards the goal Jak made an amazing save to tip the ball over the bar for a corner.

Man Of The Match Harvey (amazing workrate as always) absolute machine.

Game ended FC Spire 5 - 0 Eastwood.

Thank you for Eastwood for reversing the fixture at such short notice and good luck to them for the remainder of the season.

After a a bit of a wake up call going 2 nil down and winning 11-2 last week the lads were on a 8 game winning run so needless to say yesterday the lads felt confident as we went to face Creswell black diamond slow start to the game as the ref decided to be late and pushed back kick off meaning both sets of lads were disturbed at the start of the game both teams had opportunities and Creswell keeper kept them in the game with some quality saves but Cresswell broke the deadlock lock and with an emotional reaction from the ref give FC Spire a straight red killed us off

Creswell 3 Fc Spire 1

Creswell was the better team and a well deserved win
