Thursday night we swapped training for a game against a new team in div 4. The boys continue to build as we head towards the start of the season with 4 games left to put the pieces together pressure is on

Little update over the last couple of weeks during our preseason friendlies

We were forced to rebuild after loosing some players (joys of sunday league) but we rebuild with loyal players to the club but more importantly to the lads that wanna play footy with their mates

After a late cancellation for our first friendly we took on a very well organised and talented Tupton Tap FC having no real goal keeper and building the foundations lost 4-1

Through the lack of experience of our secretary trying to secure friendlies We took on Hasland with Dan Owen thinking it was Hasland from our league (div 5) to find out we were about to take on a Div 2 side to which for the first 35 mins you could tell which was div 2 and which was div 5 as the lads matched them just as the game continued the differences started to show but a great performance from the lads

Yesterday we took on Spartans 1st who are a div above us to which the lads play fantastically and really gave them a game FC Spire having a goal disallowed by a very strange decision by the ref (we all make mistakes joys on preseason) feeling a little hard done by the lads carried on with a positive performance keeping a clean sheet with a 0-0 bore draw this is the start and foundations for us to forward

FC Spire start training at stan Road on the 18th of June 18:30 start if any one is interested in coming along ask for Little Dan, Bradders or Ridgway and we will look after you for session free
