π€ Thinking about trying RockFit?
πWhat's stopping you from giving it a go?
If you've never been before you might be worried about what it's like or nervous about trying something new. I get it! It can be pretty daunting going to a new class, so to help you I've collated some frequently asked questions.
Check it out π
What is RockFit with Jess?
Rockfit is an exercise class combining dance, cardio and toning moves for a full body workout to rock, metal and alternative music.
Is it suitable for everyone?
Yes! Rockfit is suitable for all ages and abilities. We teach low and high impact moves so there is something for everyone. We can even adapt tracks for those who need seated exercise.
I have no co-ordination though - does that matter?
No! Getting the moves right isn't important. What matters is you are moving your body and having fun. We all mess up the routineβs occasionally (including the instructor π)
Will everyone be looking at me?
No! They'll be more worried about what they are doing. Also, I deliver the class in a darkened room which can help if you're feeling a little self conscious.
What happens in a class?
The class is 45 mins long and is continuous so participants are encouraged to take short breaks as and when they need them during the class.
What are the benefits?
Burn up to 500kcal a class.
Improve confidence and co-ordination
Build strength and stamina
Exercise to music you love
Make new friends!
What should I bring?
A bottle of water and a towel - it's gonna get sweaty!
What should I wear?
Something comfortable you can move in. A band tshirt or vest is a good option! Shorts or leggings and a pair of trainers.
What's the atmosphere like?
The darkened room gives it a bit of a gig vibe π€ Plus it's a really friendly and inclusive class where everyone is made to feel welcome π€. Some people come on their own, others come with a friend- either way there's a space for you! We don't take ourselves too seriously either. It's about having fun and enjoying the music! Can't get the move right? Who cares? Prefer to do your own thing or just dance? Go for it! π€£
Where and when are classes held?
Hoole Community Centre, Westminster Road, CH2 3AP. Monday's at 6.45pm. There's plenty of free parking available on site and wheelchair access.
How much does it cost?
Β£5 per class. You can pay cash on arrival or pay online in advance. I also run a loyalty card system (attend 10 classes and get 1 class free) and 6 week passes which reduces your weekly cost to just Β£4.20 per class!!!
Can I just turn up?
Yes! But if it's your first class please arrive 5 minutes early to complete a short health questionnaire prior to taking part.
Is there a free trial or first-class offer?
