Foundation Phase Lead Steven Reynolds has reflected on an incredible 12 months at Park View AFC Youth – and what a year it has been! 🌟

Our philosophy has always been simple: let children play, express themselves, make decisions and most importantly, enjoy their football. ⚽💛

From Reception through to Under 9s, our coaches have encouraged creativity and individuality rather than constant instructions from the touchline. Mistakes have been made along the way, but those moments have created valuable learning experiences and helped our young players develop both on and off the pitch. 📈👏

We are incredibly proud of every player, coach and volunteer who has contributed to our journey. Together, we're not just building footballers – we're building confidence, character and friendships for life. 🤝🖤

This September, almost 80 Year 1 boys and girls will begin their football journey with Park View AFC Youth. They'll do so knowing that development, enjoyment and opportunity come before results. ⚽😊

🌟 Congratulations Kara! 🌟

Everyone at Park View AFC Youth would like to congratulate Kara Ward on being named Sunderland Referees’ Association Young Referee of the Year! 🏆⚽

This is an incredible achievement, made even more special as Kara becomes the first female referee to receive this prestigious award.

Throughout the season, Kara has officiated all of our U11 Girls’ home games at North Lodge and has also supported several other teams across the club, including those managed by Gary Buckingham and others. Her professionalism, dedication, and passion for refereeing have been clear for all to see.

We’re incredibly proud to have Kara involved with our club and delighted to see her hard work recognised with this well-deserved award.

Congratulations, Kara – a fantastic role model for young referees and girls in football! 👏⚽💙
