Aurora Field Archery Club We also hold monthly club days in which we shoot our novel "scene shoot" format. In the meantime, we will be seeing you in a wood somewhere very soon!

Aurora Field Archery Club is registered with the National Field Archery Society (NFAS) and we hold regular field archery competitions in our 60 acres of woodland near Chelmsford Essex. A lone Auroran made the journey to Surrey today, to represent Team Aurora at Company of Sixty.

The course was brilliantly laid, with a perfect arrangement of fair, but challenging shots.

A big thank you to everyone at Company of Sixty for organising and hosting such a wonderful day. Special mention to Alexander Orlov, who not only laid the deliciously deceptive course, but spent a lot of time with the group, and captured some incredible photos (some of which are attached to this post).

Thanks as well to Paul, Ben and Josh for being such great company and making the day even more memorable.

It was a close one, but Dave managed to claim gold in TB. Tied on points, but just clinching it with more spots.

A totally fabulous day at Whitefriars for their open shoot today - superbly balanced course courtesy of Ryan Mills offering a great mix of distances and settings with plentiful fern action to make distance judgment particularly “interesting” 🤔😆

Huge thanks and well done to Peter Whittaker and everyone on team Whitefriars for making it so - we really appreciate your hard work 🙌🙏

A trio of Auroreans made the trip to Suffolk and had a fantastic day, scooping a couple of medals with Kieron securing BB silver 🥈and Martin FS silver 🥈

Oh, and thanks to Alex Tyler, who instigated the delightfully louche group photo. 😆

So the NFAS Champs fever has finally subsided and the snaps have now been released thanks to the talents and photography prowess of Alex Tyler

Sit back and enjoy the many gurns and faces of the Aurora faithful in the “I like it warm but not this warm” heat 🥵

I know we have mentioned it before but again another massive Thank you to Richard and his band of merry men and women that made it such a great weekend 💪🏻👊🏻

Already looking forward to the next one in September… The Aurora massive will be out in full force again I’m sure 💪🏻🏹💛🖤

An excellent albeit extremely soggy day at the HNA midweek shoot today - huge thanks to Scott King and the gang for putting on these events for us to enjoy - you really do spoil us and we greatly appreciate your hospitality 🙏🙌

Very local to us and 4 Auroreans managed to bunk off whatever they’d normally be doing on a Thursday and had a blast in the woods securing 4 participation medals for their troubles 😆🙌

Well, what a brilliant day that was in deepest darkest Kent at the Magic Dragon annual open shoot 🙌

Truly excellent course courtesy of Si Rivers and the team, making fantastic use of the terrain to create a super challenging and deceptive track 🙌 well done and thank you all 🙏

Great admin and super warm welcome as always with fabulous catering throughout 😋 what more could you want - thank you 🙏

A merry band of Auroreans made the trip and plundered the medal store securing 4 golds (Nikki HT, Spencer TD, Kieran BH, Shaun AFB) and 2 silvers (Andrew UL, Martin FS). We’ll done all 🙌💪

4 Aurora members made the trip up to Suffolk to the ever welcoming Oakwood Bowmen to participate in their open mini friendly trophy shoot.

The weather was a hot and sweaty one, with the pollen out in clouds 🤧🤧… Massive thanks to mark Gary Fisk an the oakwood team for a fantastic technical course and well organise shoot.

We were all crossing our fingers that the post champs blues would not rear its ugly head and I am pleased to say we managed to dodge it with some impressive scores posted along the way

Some ever shiny tin was acquired along the way aswell, with Big G collecting gold in the BH devision and Garry Egglestone collecting Bronze in the freestyle devision 🥇🥉

Look forward to seeing you all at the next one 👊🏻💪🏻

Amazing weekend at The NFAS 3D Champs in the grounds of Belvoir Castle - awesome location and woods for two perfect champs courses courtesy of Castle Bowmen and Centaura Field Bowmen - brilliant job by both teams for creating such challenging and interesting tracks - you’re all amazing - thank you 🙌🤩

Conditions were gruelling at times with the heat and humidity but spirits remained high and we were all kept wonderfully fed and watered throughout by the Harlequin catering team - awesome job 🙏😋

Huge thanks to the whole NFAS team led by the indomitable, indefatigable Richard Wright - I doff my hat to you Sir and everyone involved in making it happen 🫡🙌 The time and effort put into these events before, during and after is immense and we truly appreciate it - thank you 🙏

Personally I’d like to thank my incredible shooting buddies for both days - Erica, Rob, Andy and Taha - you were the best 🙏🤩

Half a dozen Auroreans made the trip and had a fantastic time and now have a National Champion and Bronze medalist in our midst 🥇🥉

Huge congratulations to Owen on winning the Under 12 Boys Barebow crown with a fantastic performance over the two days in his first ever champs and to Kieran on securing 3rd position in Bowhunter against some very stiff completion - totally deserved reward for all the time and effort put in over the year under the tutelage of his awesome coach and honorary Aurorean Sorin who secured Silver himself in Barebow despite shooting the second day with a torn Achilles… beast mode engaged 💪😮‍💨

Very well done and super proud of you all 🥹💪🙌
