Full circle moment!

Erin was one of the first children to ever walk through our doors as a dancer. Fast forward to today, she’s one of our teachers (which definitely makes me feel older than I’d like to admit! 😂).

And now, with both of our mums joining our adult classes, this photo feels extra special….
Four women, two generations, all brought together through a love of Irish dance.

Moments like these remind me that AMDC & Irish Dancing has always been about so much more than just the hobby… it’s about friendships, that become families…. that last a lifetime 💙

A brand-new class specially designed for our youngest dancers aged 18 months to 3 years.
Through music, movement, imagination and play, little ones will develop confidence, coordination, balance and social skills whilst having lots of fun in a friendly and nurturing environment.

💙Introducing… AMDC Sensory Circuits 💙

A brand-new Irish dance-inspired movement and regulation programme designed specifically for schools, intervention groups and enrichment provision.

Using rhythm, music and movement, our sessions support children to develop:

⭐ Focus and concentration�⭐ Coordination and balance�⭐ Confidence and self-esteem�⭐ Body awareness�⭐ Self-regulation skills�⭐ Readiness to learn

Designed around the principles of traditional sensory circuits, our programme combines purposeful movement with engaging activities to create a positive and inclusive experience for children of all abilities.

Suitable for EYFS, KS1 and KS2 pupils, sessions can be adapted to support whole classes, intervention groups or enrichment opportunities.

We welcome children from 2 YEARS OLD 😍

Have you got a little one starting nursery in the near future?

Our classes are a fantastic stepping stone before nursery, helping little ones build confidence, independence and social skills in a fun, supportive environment.

They learn how to follow instructions, take turns, join in with group activities and spend time away from their parent or carer… all skills that can help make the transition to nursery that little bit easier.

Plus, they’re developing coordination, balance and a love of movement while having lots of fun! 👣💙

Recently in our beginner classes, we’ve been placing a real focus on including drills within our lessons 💙✨

This week, our dancers have been working on drills for their Light Jig, especially focusing on the first step 👣🎶 These drills have been designed to suit all of our beginner dancers: whether they are just starting to learn this movement 🌟 or already have more experience 💪

For our newer dancers, the drills have really helped with learning and understanding the steps. For our more experienced dancers, the focus has been on improving technique 💫 which is not only important for this step but transferable across all dances 🎵👏

Building strong technique from a young age is so important for creating good habits and developing strong, confident dancers!! 🤩

We are so proud of all the hard work and progress everyone is making each week 🥰🙌
