As the weather cools down, it might become tempting to stay indoors more & even to begin training inside. However, the benefits of training outdoors far outweigh the minor chill factor, so it’s worth getting some warm & comfortable workout gear & sticking with it!

Here’s 3 major benefits of outdoor training:

*Fresh air which is mood boosting & also boosts self esteem & motivation.
*Time in green spaces (which according to Environmental Science and Technology journal reduces stress levels within just 5 minutes)
*Vitamin D (even from the autumn/winter sun). Just 30 minutes twice a week will keep your D levels at optimum, according to the National Institutes of Health.

This is so inspirational! If you’ve never tried cold water swimming, it’s not too late to start. Just make sure you swim with other people or choose a pool or sea with lifeguards, acclimatise slowly & make sure you have warm clothes to change into when you get out. Trying cold showers for a week or so is also a great way to start & the health benefits not to mention mental health benefits are immense 🏊‍♀️

I think it’s always important to continue learning so that I can support myself & my clients. With this in mind I recently trained as a Metabolic Balance Coach.

It was developed by a German Doctor & brought to the UK in 2008. It’s also based on scientific research & is NHS approved. I’m sceptical about most diets but what I like about MB is that each plan is unique to the individual and is based on whole foods rather than juices or shakes. The purpose is to rebalance your hormones and reset your metabolism, which can also lead to weight loss.

I’m trialling it out personally (along with my partner) before I share it with clients, and will be posting pics & videos of our progress along the way.

Pics below are phase 1, day 1 of the cleansing phase.
