Happy International Women’s Day from Carshalton Netball Club 💜

This International Women’s Day, we’re thinking about what it means to give.

Give time. Give respect. Give a voice. Give safety. Give mentoring. Give credit. Give fun. Give friendship. Give introductions. Give role models. Give opportunities. Give training. Give knowledge. Give celebration. Give visibility. Give protection. Give momentum. Give growth.

At Carshalton Netball Club, our 150 women do all of this, not just today, but every single day.

Job search support, honest conversations, sharing everything from books to clothes to household finds, menopause chats, career introductions and yes, even plumber recommendations.

As a collective of women, we lift each other up. Wholeheartedly. All year round. 🤲

Brockwell Parkrun - Parkrun Tour #21

Brockwell parkrun is a proper test of the legs around the beautiful grounds of Brockwell Park in Herne Hill.

This two lap course never lets you forget it’s built on a hill. From the off, you’re treated to a sloping downhill then deceptively punishing climbs wind up through the park, rewarding your effort with sweeping views across South London and, on a clear day, the city skyline beyond.

What goes up must come down, and the descents are fast and fun, though your quads will know about it by the end. The course is all tarmac paths, and with the park’s mature trees and the lido in the background, it’s one of the more scenic 5ks you’ll find in London.

As always the real reward, of course, comes afterwards. The post-run coffee offers a beautiful setting (inside or out) and just what you need. Cakes & treats selection was one of the best we’ve seen on tour, that somehow taste even better when you’ve earned them.

The event couldn’t find their sign this morning for us tourists to take photos, so we may have to go back with our missing tour buddies for another pic. 📸 Oh and there’s free parking along the road at the lido!

Always a brilliant way to spend a Saturday morning with these gals!

let’s hope to your back soon but this might be a nice hill test for regulars missing Nonsuch 🙌🫶🏻

⛄️ London Winter Run 2026 🧊

“It’s only a bit of rain,” they said. ☔️

Not true. 🙄

But relentless downpours couldn’t stop this crew from smashing the Winter Run – poncho style and all.

Massive thanks to everyone who helped us raise £2,600 for and to all the incredible volunteers and for sending us off with a smile (even in that weather!) 🎿

It’s become one of our favourite traditions – six years running now, and still going strong. Each winter, we gather for our annual book swap, a ritual we all look forward to. 📚

This year’s challenge: find two books either Classics or Modern Classics plus any other book that calls out from your own bookshelf or catches your eye in a local charity shop.

Each book is wrapped with various clues or first lines written on the cover then we select the books that appeal to us.

Always a fun way to find your next read & we’re ready to get stuck into and pass along our new books within our little reading community.
