A wet and windy street party yesterday at Junction Road with the Sandilands ShantyMen. Rain didn't stop play for our mollies, all it needed was beer and sugar (& firemen)! Thank you for inviting, feeding and watering us πŸ˜€

Carshalton Beating the Bounds revived! Yesterday we perambulated Carshalton Village to beat the bounds in our own unique 21 century way. A huge thanks to the following, who without their involvement we would've just been on a pub crawl 😳
Vellum Mill Gallery, Emma James, The Palmerston, Jonathan Stimpson for the sandwiches, photos and videos, The Greyhound, Honeywood, The Sun, The Railway Tavern, The Hope, Carshalton Stories, Mitcham History Notes and finally but by no means the least, the wonderful guys and gals from the Dog House who supported us throughout the day, along with everyone else that joined us during the day - See you next year!

Here's a lovely video from Mitcham History Notes of our first revival of Carshalton's tradition of Beating the Bounds. The last record we've found of it taking place was in 1833. It'll be repeated next year!

The first Beating the Bounds in this area possibly since 1833 (the year not the time). Originally 14+ miles long and with only one boundary stone left, our revival version for the 21st century will be the Carshalton Village Conservation area. Wallington Green is included as this was the original starting point of the 19th century version. All welcome ☺
