🎾 Pickleball is taking off at Rhiwbina LTC! 🚀
If you’ve been walking past the courts on a Friday morning, you’ve probably heard it: a mix of "good shot!", "out!", and a whole lot of laughter. 😂
At just £60 for the entire year (running all the way until April 2027), it’s incredible value —but the price isn’t the real secret to its success. It’s the community! The Rhiwbina Pickleball crew are organised! We’re talking weekly social play, off-court get-togethers, ad-hoc games, and a buzzing WhatsApp group that keeps everyone connected. 📱✨
Why is everyone obsessed with Pickleball? 🤔
Super easy to learn: Less technical than tennis, so you’ll be playing rallies in no time.
Incredibly social: Played as a doubles game on a smaller court, meaning you’re close enough to actually chat and laugh.
Kinder to your joints: Less ground to cover means less wear and tear, but still a fantastic, fast-paced workout!
More action, less fuss: Short matches and way less time spent chasing balls across the court.
Need to know before you go:
📍 The Setup: We have outdoor courts ready to go (including one permanently marked tennis court that fits two pickle courts!).
🎒 Equipment: Bats and balls are provided to get you started. If you get hooked, you can grab a 3-pack of your own balls for about £6 from YC Sports in Whitchurch.
🌦️ All-Weather: Pickleball runs all year round—yes, even through the winter!
🎾 Included with tennis memberships too!
💡 Quick teamwork note: Players just pitch in to pop the nets up and take them down (they're kept right by the court).
