My horse’s saddle slips left. When he’s been out of work, it is significantly worse.
When he sees the chiropractor it is much better.
It happens with all saddles and all riders.
Obviously I have tweaked his saddle to help but still, some days it’s noticeable.
Is he sound? Yes.
Is he comfortable? Yes.
Can the vet find anything wrong with him? No.
But sometimes his saddle slips left.
And whilst it’s my job to help prevent that, sometimes a little saddle slip is going to be your horse’s ‘normal’.
Multi agency working - saddle fitter, chiropractor, physio, vet, farrier, bridle/bit fitter is the best place to start because there are so many factors at play. But also don’t forget to look at YOURSELF. Your chiro/physio etc are also part of the team.
If your saddle slips one way then give your saddle fitter a call- there are loads we can do to help. And update the rest of your horse’s team. Let them do their thing too!
