This was a tough opposition on Friday night and although the scoreline looks bad we did have plenty of chances but just didn't deliver. A bad Friday night at the office but in our defence that was only our 2nd game as a team and Hamstreet had the upper hand with the quality.

What a turnaround this game turned out to be today after going 1-0 behind by half time. This only gave us the fight to turn the game around and score 6 great goals to end with a comfortable lead. Some tidy football played today from the team, nice passing and great attacking football ⚽️. I gave the teamtalk of my life to get the players pumped and ready for action and it pulled off. Some great saves to keep them at bay and we stayed cool playing from the back. Our fitness done us favours as the opposition started to tire out 2nd half. By no means was this a walkover we just kept our foot on the gas and used our experience and audacity to clench a comfortable win. Onto the next round of the Kent Veterans Cup 💚👌👍👊

We have a busy weekend of veterans football coming up this weekend.
Friday evening 7pm KO Canterbury Eagles supervets v Hamstreet supervets at Canterbury uni 👍💪👊

Saturday morning 10.30am KO Canterbury Eagles Veterans v Prince Albert Old Boys in the Kent County Cup.

Thats the 1st game of the season done and dusted. We beat Whitstable Masters 1-0. This was a tough game and the opposition have definitely improved since last season. All the Eagles worked their socks off to get the 3 points. Great defending, clean sheet for the keeper and the attackers kept working hard throughout.

Gutted to lose the final against Herne Bay Harriers but proud to have gotten this far. We lost 4-1 against a very strong side who have been promoted from our division this season. Lovely end to a fantastic season with the best bunch of lads. Roll on next season we can work on being promoted and keep building as a team. Super proud of the team COYE 💚

we are in the FINAL 💚, we drew 2-2 with Whitstable Masters and won 4-2 on penalties, what a great performance from the team and what an achievement getting to the Cup final. I am so proud of everyone and what we have achieved this season

Apologies we haven't updated in a while we have had back to back games and have now finished the season in 4th place. We will be remaining in division 3 for next season which gives us a bit longer to keep building on our squad. We have had ups and downs throughout the season but I am very proud of the team. We have shown up every game with at least 13 players which is an achievement on its own with vets football considering some of our players are coaches, work night shifts, need childcare etc. We have had a couple of players return from injury and fighting for their spot again on the team. This is my 1st season as manager and I'm learning every game. I've made some bad decisions with subs and formations but it's all a learning process to get better. We have managed to build a strong team and have players who can play in multiple positions. We have created and scored a lot of goals too. I would like to thank the team for their efforts on and off the pitch and they all dig deep and keep their heads even when we are up against it. You should all be very proud off yourselves and I hope you all stick around for next season and the foreseeable future. COYE 💚
