A heavy defeat for our White's this morning against a very good Wishaw team to bring their long Clyfa League C campaign to a close.

After going 1-0 down early on, a good free kick from Ollie came back off the Wishaw keeper for Cole G to roll home to level the match.

The boys struggled at times to match Wishaws pace and power and unable to grab control of the game saw them lose 3 goals in 10 minutes including a silly mistake to give away a penalty and 1 from our keeper who has been outstanding since coming in to the team pretty much took the game away from the boys in the 1st half.

To the White's credit they dug in and kept trying to keep the ball on the deck and pass their way back into it (which todays Referee even felt fit to comment himself on at the end of the match).

Another free kick saw Ollie fire a high looping shot from about 25 yards over the keeper giving him no chance and giving the boys the slightest glimmer of hope at half time.

Coming out 4-2 behind for the 2nd half, any chances of a fightback were quickly dismissed with Wishaws quality seeing them score another 4 in a 10-15 minute spell.

With only 5 minutes remaining Cole G grabbed his second of the match and with a great free kick from just outside the box.

Wishaw finished the match pretty much how they started it, in control and showing why they finished the season in 2nd place over all so well done to them 👏

Certainly wasnt any complaints from us today and you just have to say you were well beaten by the better side on the day.

A special mention this week to all the boys at the back & in the less glamorous engine room postions, as all season long they have given the team a solid base to build from and play their football and add that to the fact they do it consistently almost every week is to their massive credit.

Not how we were hoping to finish the season but while it may have been a disappointing result on the day, overall the White's have had an excellent 1st season at competitive football which has given them a 4th place finish overall in a League with really good teams throughout it more so that they had also moved up a playing level from last season, so hopefully all the boys feel as proud of themselves as we do of them as both coaches and parents. ❤️🤍🖤
