Calne Towns Sparrows under 10’s vs Kingsdown Lions Under 10’s (home) ⚽️
Our second time meeting this team which was a very even match last time.
Today was much the same and a great match to watch.
Kingsdown were very quick off the start to get a goal early doors. But Jackson in goal stayed strong and saved one very quickly afterwards.
There were some amazing tries at a goal from our team from Frankie M and Caleb but they went just wide or hit the cross bar. Some great back and forth between Fred M and Frankie M working together. Then just before the end of the first quarter Caleb equalised 🥅
Going into the second quarter Kingsdown repeated with a goal early doors again. Great effort down the wing from Fred M and a good shot just short of the target from Josh. Some strong saves from Jackson. We were given a free kick and the rebound from this resulted in Jack scoring!! Cracking long ball from William through to Caleb, resulting in Caleb hitting the back of the net ⚽️
Third quarter some strong communication from Jackson telling his team what to do from goal which the boys needed. Another assist from William through to Josh and a great goal 🥅
In this quarter 2 or 3 times Jack won the ball by defending and then getting it back to where it needed to be. A couple of times Jack got it through to William but was just unlucky.
Fred M kept on trying to cross it in but just wasn’t fortunate.
Fourth quarter we had some solid defence performances from Frankie S and Fraser. Fraser showing pressure and booting it back up!
A ball through from William to Frankie M and hitting the back of the net, well deserved after many attempts. ⚽️
All of the boys stuck at it this week, kept their heads up and kept going, kept driving. They all played brilliantly and all should be proud of themselves for a great effort.
Well done boys! Only one more match left of the season 😢 we go again next week at home!!
