2023… I just didn’t feel like myself.
My anxiety was through the roof, my energy was low, constant brain fog, always tired, and my mood was all over the place.
Honestly, I just put it down to running a business.
My skin was also at its worst, constant, painful breakouts that I felt so embarrassed about.
Louis suggested I get my bloods done… and I’m so glad I did.
Because my hormones were completely out of balance.
That’s when I finally got answers about my body and was diagnosed with multiple hormone-related conditions. While medication helped, I knew I also had to start supporting my hormones myself.
For me, it’s not about being perfect, it’s about keeping my hormones balanced and my blood sugar stable.
Here’s what’s actually been helping me:
🥗 Balancing my meals
I stopped eating carbs on their own and started pairing them with protein + healthy fats
(e.g. oats with yogurt + seeds instead of just toast)
🍗 Prioritising protein
I make sure I’m getting protein in every meal — eggs, chicken, fish, yogurt
→ this has helped so much with my energy and keeping me full
🥑 Adding healthy fats daily
Avocado, olive oil, nuts, seeds, salmon
→ I’ve noticed this really supports my overall hormone health
🥦 Eating more fibre
More veg, berries, whole grains, legumes
→ helps me feel more balanced (and improves my digestion too)
💊 Being mindful of key nutrients
I try to include foods with:
• Vitamin B6 (bananas, chickpeas)
• Magnesium (dark chocolate, leafy greens)
• Zinc (pumpkin seeds, meat)
⚖️ What I’ve reduced (not cut out):
Sugar, ultra-processed foods, and refined carbs
🧠 And honestly… the biggest shift?
Prioritising sleep, managing stress, and moving my body regularly
✅ The outcome:
My energy is so much better.
My skin isn’t perfect, but it’s improved massively.
I enjoy my food again.
And I’ve fallen back in love with training.
Everyone’s goal is unique:
Weight loss
Muscle mass
Gym confidences
Education around nutrition
And for me, it was about learning my body, learning how to fuel it and work with my hormonal condition and make sure I have the best energy for my day-to-day life.
