People ask me all the time, “How do you stay so disciplined and motivated?”
The truth? I don’t.
I’m a mom. I run my own business. Some days I’m exhausted, overwhelmed, and the last thing I want to do is training..
I don’t show up because I’m always motivated.
I show up because I’ve learned what happens when I don’t.
When I stop moving my body, my mental health suffers.
I’m more anxious, less patient, more overwhelmed, and I don’t feel like the best version of myself.
The gym is one of the ways I take care of my mind so l can better take care of everyone else.
Motivation comes and goes.
Find your reason that’s bigger than how you feel in the moment.

The fitness industry loves blanket advice.

The problem? What works at 20 often isn’t what serves you best at 40, 50 or beyond.

Instead of chasing exhaustion, restriction and endless cardio, focus on:
✔️ Building strength
✔️ Eating enough protein
✔️ Prioritising recovery
✔️ Staying consistent
✔️ Training for the life you want

Your goal isn’t to punish your body.

It’s to build a stronger one.

What fitness myth do you wish would disappear?

Today I received this beautiful handwritten note and artwork in the post, and it completely made my day.

Knowing that my message is reaching people beyond my clients is something I’ll never take for granted.

Thank you for your kindness and for taking the time to write such thoughtful words. It means more than you know.
I can’t wait to display them in the gym!

This is a reminder that a few positive words can make someone’s entire day. ❤️

How many times have you told yourself:

“I’ve failed.”

Maybe you missed a few workouts.
Maybe you’ve been living off quick meals.
Maybe the scales haven’t moved.
Maybe life simply got in the way.

I hear this from women all the time.

They’re working, caring for children, supporting partners, managing households, looking after ageing parents, and trying to squeeze in some time for themselves.

Then they feel guilty because they haven’t managed to be “perfect” with their health and fitness.

But here’s what I want you to know:

You are not failing.

You don’t need to start over.
You don’t need a detox.
You don’t need to punish yourself with extra workouts.

You just need to take the next small step.

One nutritious meal.
One walk.
One workout.
One early night.

Progress isn’t built by never slipping up.

It’s built by choosing yourself again and again, even after the difficult days.

If this message resonated with you, leave a ❤️ in the comments so I know I’m not the only one who needs this reminder sometimes.

And save this post for the days when your inner critic gets a little too loud.

Why your body feels different now 👇

As we get older, our bodies change.

❌ Less muscle mass means a slower calorie burn.

❌ Stress and poor sleep affect recovery and appetite.

❌ Hormonal changes can make fat loss feel harder.

The answer isn’t endless cardio or eating as little as possible.

It’s:
✅ Strength training
✅ Prioritising protein
✅ Recovery and sleep
✅ Consistency over perfection

If you’ve been feeling frustrated because what worked at 25 isn’t working now, you’re not alone.

Follow for realistic fitness advice for women who want to feel strong, healthy and confident at every stage of life.
