💔 Holcombe 10 Race Update 💔

We are really sorry to share that the Holcombe 10 Race, which was due to take place in May, has unfortunately had to be cancelled.

Please be assured that the team agonised over making this difficult decision, but due to staff changes and capacity, we were unfortunately no longer in a position to safely deliver this event as it was originally advertised and we truly appreciate the understanding and continued support from those who were due to take part.

That said, we didn’t want all the hard work and training to go to waste - and we still want you to have the chance to earn the awesome Holcombe 10 medal 🏅

Therefore, instead, we’re excited to invite you to take part in the Holcombe 10 Virtual Challenge, where you can complete the 10K or 10 Mile route in your own time, at your own pace, on a date that suits you.

You’ll still experience the brutal challenge, still earn the medal, and still be part of the Holcombe 10 story - we want to see your photos!

NT Holcombe Moor and Stubbins Estate

📣 Have you signed up to get your hands on this awesome medal yet?!?🏅

▪️The Holcombe 10 Race is The Sunnywood Project’s first timed race event in collaboration with the National Trust 🌳

▪️With a choice of either a challenging 10K or 10 Mile race across Holcombe Moor with each route created to purposely showcase much of the incredible conservation and land management work the Holcombe Moor National Trust team have undertaken over recent years.

▪️Setting off from the Hare and Hounds,
the route starts with an immediate dash through the beautiful Redisher Woods before commencing the brutal climb up to the iconic Peel Tower.

▪️A good runnable stretch onwards from Peel Tower along the bridleway before ascending up onto the moor by Beetle Hill.

▪️The 10K route will contour to Pilgrims Cross, then over Harcles Hill, before descending back from Peel Tower, enjoying more of Redisher Wood Nature Reserve.

▪️The 10 Mile route will contour around Bull Hill, picking up the mosses and head towards Crowthorn and Quarlton Heights. Following the bridleway to cross Red Brook, before another ascent to Pilgrims Cross, where you will rejoin the route to finish back at the Hare & Hounds.
