Our Ladies 2s and 3s had a lovely evening on Wednesday in a little round robin with Finborough School Girls Hockey team! 🏑🧡

Lovely to see some familiar faces in the Finborough side, seeing some of our juniors playing for their school! A nice bit of practice for all the teams!🏑

Thank you Finborough School for travelling over and playing! A talented young team, we are very excited to see where you girls go!💙

A big thank you to Jules and Jenny for coming down and umpiring all three games! Legends!✨️

Bury St Edmunds Hockey Club PreSeason weekend🧡🏑

Our ladies preseason team had a very successful first outing vs Braintree Blue Hornets, and after some brilliant hockey from both teams managed to come away with a win! 🧡🏑

Good luck to the ladies at the Braintree Blue Hornets as they start their new season in the Prem!🐝🧡

At home our men had a dominant display throughout their games coming away with an overall 1st place finish in the tournament! 💪🏼🏑

What a way to start our new season! 🧡💙

Thank you to everyone playing this weekend and for all the teams involved - we love seeing everyone enjoying this brilliant game!🏑🧡

Meet Umpire Liaison Officer - Eddie Gibson🏑

Eddie has been a member of the Club for almost 25 years. After hanging up his hockey stick, he began coaching juniors. However, he was lured back to goalkeeping when Patrick Sullivan offered to buy him a pint! 🍺

He played Men’s 1s at the ripe old age of 52 and also spent a decade as the junior goalkeeper coach, training several who would move on to adult hockey and selection for regional performance squads.

Now focused on umpiring, he is now responsible for ensuring that every game has appointed umpires and promoting the development of umpires within the Club, as well as being a regular behind the bar at the Culford Club.🏑🧡

Welcoming your new Ladies 1st Team Captain - Kat Wright!🧡🏑

Kat started playing Hockey at 17 and after leaving school she joined Dereham Hockey Club, representing them for 6 years.
With a move to Suffolk, Kat joined us here at BSEHC where she has been a member for the last 5 seasons. She began her time with us in our ladies 2nd team and then as Captain. She progressed up to the Ladies 1st IX, playing for them for the last 3 seasons.

Kat, we wish you everything for the best in your new role and excited to see what you will bring to the team🧡🏑

Meet Patrick our Club Welfare Officer and Vice Chair.

Patrick spent his youth playing Gaelic Games and only picked up a hockey stick while at university after a friend convinced him that hockey was just like hurling!
Patrick joined BSEHC in 2001 and has captained teams for more years than he cares to remember! Currently he is captain of the men's 4's. He also umpires regularly and is the Club Welfare Officer. More recently he has taken on the role of Vice Chair and feels that's probably enough roles for now. Alongside his club commitments Patrick has managed and played for the Ireland over 55 B team in World and European Cups. Patrick Sullivan

We are excited to announce Sam Wood as the new Men's 1st team Captain!

Sam started playing Hockey around 8 years old and continued playing adult hockey at Northampton Saints and County at 13 until leaving for university. At university, Sam played for Beeston Hockey Club for a few seasons before moving over the Bury last season.

We are excited to see what you will bring to the team that had such a great season last year and wish you everything of the best Sam!
