For the first time in UKCL history , we saw a Bury Baggers Championship Game!
A huge congratulations to Alex Bowers on a well-deserved victory. Shooting lights out all day, Alex went undefeated through the bracket to claim his first Open Championship title. Consistency has been the key to his season, with a Top 10 finish in every event he’s played—making this his 7th Top 10 of the year. Today’s win also marks his third podium finish and further cements his place among the elite players in the UK. Alex posted an impressive 8.21 PPR and led the field with a 17% 4-bag rate. With this result, he has secured his place in Team GB’s Top 4.
Aaron Whited continued his excellent season with another podium finish, taking 2nd place. This marks his sixth podium appearance of the season and his third runner-up finish. Aaron delivered a strong performance throughout the day, finishing with a 7.79 PPR and a 12% 4-bag rate.
Jake Westad produced one of the standout performances of the tournament. Battling through a tough field and taking on some of the game’s top players, he showed exactly why he’s becoming a force to be reckoned with. His 5th-place finish is his best result of the season so far, backed up by a solid 6.04 PPR.
Rounding out the Bury Baggers squad was Joshua Hiser, who secured a respectable 7th-place finish. Making his fourth top-10 appearance this season. Josh put together another strong tournament performance, recording a 7.18 PPR and a 4% 4-bag rate.
A fantastic day for the club, with four players finishing inside the Top 10 and two players standing on the podium. On to the national championship💪🇬🇧
