Pre-Season Friendly

Hatters FC went into their final pre-season fixture looking to finish preparations with another win before the real business of the season gets underway — and they certainly delivered.

From the first whistle, Hatters took complete control of the game, dominating possession, creating chance after chance and putting Rossendale Collective FC under pressure right from the off.

The goals came thick and fast, with Hatters heading into the half-time break 7–0 up.

With the game already looking comfortable, the Hatters manager decided it was the perfect opportunity to change formation and experiment with a few different options ahead of the new season.

Despite the changes, the dominance continued in the second half, with Hatters adding another eight goals to eventually run out 15–2 winners.

A fantastic way to round off pre-season, with plenty of goals, plenty of positives and some valuable minutes in the legs ahead of the season opener.

🏆 Man of the Match – Mark "Ole" Jenkins

A deserved Man of the Match award for Mark "Ole" Jenkins.

Coming off the bench and seemingly able to smell the goals from the moment he stepped onto the pitch, Jenks put in a superb performance up front.

Four goals and an assist tells the story, but it was his overall performance that really stood out. He was a constant threat and looked hungry every time the ball came his way.

And then came that finish…

A goal that could quite comfortably rival some of the best goals ever scored by a Hatters player — although we're sure Jenks will be reminding everyone about it for the foreseeable future.

A brilliant individual performance to cap off pre-season.
