Burnham played Gerrards Cross yesterday.
We would normally play 18 ends but due to the weather we cut it down to 14.
We held a minutes silence in honour of our dear friend and fellow bowler Andrew who sadly passed away on the green in the week. Our thoughts are with Margaret and the family.
It was a win for Burnham 🎉 65-45 with Gerrards Cross getting 9 shots on each of the 5 triples, we told them our scoreboards only go up to 9 on the away side 🤣
We had a winning triple of Mark, John R and Anna, well done.
And he who shall not be shamed (it was Kevin) had a wrong bias even though he said he put it up narrow🤔
Wendy and Margarida did the teas and Shelly manned the bar, thank you ladies.

Yesterday was the second of this years Open Days. We had a good turn out and signed up more members and others who said they would be returning. Thanks to Frances and her team of helpers who made the day run smoothly. The tea and cakes were lovely too.

Something for us to be happy about in a very tough week for the club. Steve, Martin and Richard have made it to the county triples quarter final stage. They beat the team from Iver Heath on the 16th June 20-11. They now play Wolverton Town at Cheddington Bowls Club on 9th July at 6pm. Also last night Richard won his County singles game against Keith Patrick a top GX player 21-18 on the Burnham Green. It was a fabulous match to watch and Richard dedicated the win to our wonderful friend Andrew.

Well done to our Burnham ladies Gilly, Helen, Anne and Loraine last night.
They beat a Gerrards Cross team in the County Senior Fours .
They will be travelling to Newport Pagnell for the Quarter Finals.

Burnham qualify for the knockout phase of the Bucks Cup after a great win over Wexham on Wednesday evening. Wins on all 4 rinks sealed their place in the last 16 of the competition. Wexham fought hard but the two away wins proved to be a decisive deciding factor in the match. Well done to the whole squad led by Richard for this excellent achievement in the league phase of the competition.

The”boys” go marching on in the County Triples. A great win tonight by 21 - 7 at Marlow means that Richard, Martin and Steve are now in the final of the top half of the draw in South Bucks with home advantage. The next match is next Tuesday evening. As a club let’s really get behind them and cheer them on as they continue their quest to get to Leamington.

We hosted Windsor Great Park today with 4 triples plus a Burnham vs Burnham triple. A lovely friendly game with no rain which ended with Burnham just winning with a score of 66-62.

A big shout out to Jackie who came along to watch and ended up playing her first ever friendly match, playing for Windsor Great Park who were a person down.
Also thanks to Tom and Eddie for doing the teas and Shelley for the bar and raffle.
