Burford Hockey Club We are Burford Hockey Club, a local community Field Hockey club serving Burford and the local Cotswolds towns of Chipping Norton, Carterton, Witney and more.

We train weekly during the extended season and play mixed fixtures and Open League Hockey.

🏑🎉2026 Hockey Club Awards Ceremony🥳👕

Our annual Hockey Club Awards Ceremony was the perfect way to celebrate another memorable season, full of challenges, achievements, laughter, and plenty of hockey.

Before the awards got underway, we enjoyed a fantastic afternoon with our hosts at the Bowls Club. While we may spend most of our time with hockey sticks in hand, we gave bowls our best shot and even managed cheekily to win one match against our hosts, something we'll be reminding them of for some time to come! Thank you to Darren for leading the way on this!

We should all be really proud of last season. Competing in a higher division brought some tough tests, but our successful survival proved what this club is all about. Both our Open and Mixed teams experienced the highs of hard-fought victories and the lows that come with facing some exceptionally strong opposition. Through it all, we showed resilience, determination, and a willingness to keep battling until the final whistle.

What makes this club special is not only the hockey we play but also the character we show. We have seen both the friendly side of the club and our competitive spirit! More importantly, we have continued to support one another, demonstrating the team spirit, camaraderie, and resilience that define our club.

As we celebrated our award winners, it is important to recognise every member of the club. Congratulations to everyone for a fantastic season. Each player has progressed as an individual, and together we have grown stronger as teams. Thank you to everyone who turned up week after week, whether for training sessions on cold, dark evenings or matches in all kinds of weather. Your commitment and enthusiasm are what make this club such a great place to be.

As we look ahead to next season, we can do so with confidence and excitement. Let's build on everything we've achieved this year, continue to develop, support one another, and make next season even better.
