After an unexpected week off, we’re back in action this Saturday as Mallaig make the trip across the Sound of Sleat to take on the midges in the Ross Cup - a repeat of last year’s final.

The men in red and white came out on top in that encounter, but can they do it again and secure their place in the semi-finals?

Could you make a difference to young people in South Skye?

Broadford Youth Club is looking for two Youth Workers to help us support, encourage and create opportunities for local young people aged 12–25.

This is a paid, part-time role with flexible hours, training provided, and the chance to be part of something genuinely important in the community. The role includes helping to run youth club sessions, planning activities, supporting young people, and working with volunteers and local partners.

Broadford Youth Club has recently become a registered SCIO charity, and we’ve also secured funding to launch a new dodgeball team for local young people. We now need the right people to help us keep building momentum.

You don’t need to be a qualified teacher or have decades of experience. We’re looking for people with common sense, reliability, enthusiasm, and a genuine interest in helping young people thrive.

Youth Worker roles available
£18 per hour

Kyleakin 0-7 Sleat & Strath ⚽️

⚽️⚽️⚽️ Cameron Macleod
⚽️⚽️ Ruaraidh “Spod” Macleod
⚽️ Cameron Morrison
⚽️ Daniel MacDonald

A dominant derby day performance from the boys in blue 💙

Sleat started brightly and took the lead midway through the first half when Cameron Morrison calmly lifted the ball over the keeper. “Spod” Macleod doubled the advantage soon after with a powerful finish before Cameron Macleod added a third after rounding the keeper. The same player then grabbed his second from the penalty spot to make it 4-0 at the break.

The second half saw more composed football from SAS, with Daniel MacDonald driving forward to add the fifth. Goal of the night came from “Spod”, who spun brilliantly on the edge of the box before firing an unstoppable strike into the top corner 🚀

Cameron Macleod completed his hat-trick late on after excellent work from Calum MacDonald Jr to round off a superb team performance.

🧤 Player of the Match: Fraser Gillies
Outstanding with the ball at his feet and produced several huge saves, including a sensational late stop to preserve the clean sheet. Thank you to James Finlay for continuing his sponsorship in 2026 🙌

Next Up 🔴⚪️🔴

A massive week ahead for SAS with two huge fixtures back-to-back.

First up, it’s the South Skye Derby as we take on Kyleakin Football Club this Tuesday (26th May), kicking off at 7:30pm. After a tough result last time out, the boys will be determined to bounce back, bring the points home to Broadford, and claim the local bragging rights.

Then on Saturday (30th May), attention turns to the Highland Amateur Cup as we welcome Lewis & Harris FA champions Back Football & Recreation Club to Kyleakin for a 1:30pm kick-off. A huge cup tie and another big test for the lads.

Two massive games. Two big atmospheres needed.
Get yourselves down to Kyleakin and get behind the boys!
