It’s like a broken record by now I know, but people don’t fail because they lack discipline…!
. they struggle because their subconscious coping patterns, self-worth, and identity are working Against them.

I always go on about this and I will continue to because it is the reality of being human 🙏🏼

Living in alignment and becoming the person you truly want to be happens when you HEAL THE ROOT of your behaviors, NOT by trying to continue to FORCE a desired behavior..

As a Fitness & Life Coach coach, I help my clients:

-> and create habits and behaviors that feel aligned rather than forced 🤍

Strong emotions often feel overwhelming not just because of the sensation itself, but because of the meaning we attach to it.

In reality, most feelings move through the body fairly quickly - often within about 90 seconds - when we allow them to be experienced fully!

What tends to prolong them is the narrative we’ve learned to pair with those feelings (the story we repeat).

Stories like “this is what this says about me” can keep the body in a state of alert (stress), creating a loop where it feels like the emotion won’t ever pass 🫠

But what’s actually lingering isn’t just the feeling - it’s the INTERPRETATION wrapped around it.

Rather than pushing the feeling away or judging your thoughts, it can be more helpful to approach both with curiosity.

What did you learn about this emotion?
How did your system adapt in response to it?

The way you respond today reflects those adaptations. And at their core, they were forms of protection (intelligent ones!)

There’s nothing inherently wrong with your mind or body.

Your system has simply been shaped by past experiences, and it can gradually learn NEW ways of responding through small, steady moments of noticing that things don’t have to stay the same in order to still be safe.

I’m going through a bunch of big emotions in my personal life right now that I haven’t been sharing on here and this kind of reminder and awareness work has been key for me when navigating this period.

Awareness and knowledge on how our mind and body works can play such a life changing role so never underestimate the power of curiosity! ❤️

When I learned to understand this I was finally able to get myself free from the hold I had on myself and I began moving in the direction I wanted!

All-or-nothing thinking isn’t you being irrational or bad, it’s simply your brain trying to help you 💛

It makes things feel more simple in the moment and gives you a feeling of control when life feels messy..

But truthfully, 99-100% of the time it makes you completely stagnant, which is the opposite of what you actually wanted.

The trick is to just notice it when it happens and try a more flexible way instead.

For example:
You might think, ‘If I can’t do all my workouts perfectly, there’s no point doing any.’
So you give up.
A more flexible way is: ‘Doing some of it is better than none - I can try my best and that’s enough.’

Or for example thinking, ‘If I’m not perfect, I’ve failed.’
Instead, try: ‘I don’t have to be perfect to make progress.’

Because little steps done often ALWAYS beat perfect plans you never start.

THAT’s the truth, and THAT is what will help you reach your goals 💛

I saw this text one someone’s page the other week and it’s something I’ve thought about for quite a while.

I love helping both women and men feel better about themselves AND within themselves which is why I love being a coach who specifies on purely bespoke coaching with each individual.
Sorting out their exercise/training, educating them on how they don’t need to ever diet ever again but can in fact still eat all the foods they love while still getting closer to their goals, and helping them with the most fundamental thing of ALL - whether their main focus is fat loss, muscle gain, general wellness or performance - their Mindset.

Yet there’s something I struggle with sometimes. It makes me so sad that so many people, including myself for quite some time, have completely mistaken “being healthy, fit and in good shape” does not equal having extreme low fat % and vice versa.

Simply because, for the vast majority of people no one can maintain that without sacrificing their energy, their mood, their social network or just simply living a lifestyle that allows you to be spontaneous and do the things you love without needing to plan and monitor every move you make.

In the first photo I had been a PT for a year and had no clue about anything I was talking about, especially no idea about calories in vs calories out which left me super frustrated that I never “saw any results no matter how hard I trained and healthy I ate”.
I simply followed easily accessed info through social media which so many make the mistake of doing simply due to Laziness.
Yep, I’m not taking that back. More on this in another post.

In the 2nd photo I was monitoring every single calorie that entered my mouth on MFP.
I remember feeling pretty happy at the time and like things were easy because I learned about the magic “IIFYM” but looking back, I was at a stage in life where things were very convenient for me which allowed me to adapt a lifestyle that was (continued in comments ...👇🏼❤)

From Coaching clients in person for 5 years to taking it all Online!

Couldn’t be more grateful for having had clients who decided to stay with me Virtually this year, trusting me when I said that their progress didn’t have to stop just because the gyms shut!

Some of them decided to stay with me over Zoom and some jumped over to online coaching in the form of programming and nutritional support.
Some have taken a break from
Coaching but have continued to implement everything they learned! This is my goal as a PT & Coach.

I’m not here to fool people of their money and make people feel like they can’t do things without me. It’s the OPPOSITE.

A good Coach who has a Genuine interest & intention to improve their clients lives should be able to make their clients feel Knowledgeable and Capable as much as possible - Themselves!

I always reach out to old clients to check in and see how they’re getting on after they’ve stopped their coaching with me & more often than not I’m so happy to see they’re still Maintaining their new, balanced lifestyle that they ENJOY!

Here’s a recent message from Amy who was my client for over a year.
Feeling better and stronger than EVER:

“I’m still tracking a lot! I think my relationship with food is much healthier now! I can incorporate everything I enjoy into my diet whilst being mindful about how much I’m eating etc!

Literally last year on my birthday I refused to eat my birthday cake because I felt so bad. Fast forward to this year I feel so much better and thoroughly enjoyed my day and ate my cake, GUILT FREE 😍🙌🏻”
