West Country United F.C. is a football club founded in 2008 and based at The Netham Bristol, England, currently members of the Bristol & District Sunday League. The club is affiliated to the Gloucestershire County FA. They were established in 2
008, playing their early years in the Bristol & District League Sunday League using Bristol City Council facilities. The club was created by Andrew Fox, Chris Lane, Rich Gregory and Jon Arthur. The founding members gained funding from the players (members of the club) and sponsorship from McDonald's Restaurants Ltd. In 2009, they regrettably moved to Muller Road. The facilities were a lower standard and the following season they switched back. In the first season 2008/9 the team struggled to gel and finished 10th in Division III. Resulting in the 22 league games played the team finished the season scoring 45 goals, but conceding 84. The following 2009/10 season was an improvement with slightly less league games 18 in total scoring 56 and conceding 55 goals. Back to 22 fixtures in 2010/11 the team struggled for goals only scoring 29 goals. On a positive they only conceded 45, the lowest since the team started. The Reserve Team was created in 2010 and entered Division Two of the Bristol & District Sunday league. Due to various unforeseen changes the team struggled to have a consistent squad and on the odd occasion to field 11 players. In 26 league games the team scored 42 goals, not a bad amount but conceded a staggering 123.
