Life on a Rice Cake Welcome! I'm a gluten-free coach with tons of advice to help you on your journey. You can also go to Instagram or my website to find out more.

Whether you're coeliac or have another reason to avoid gluten, there's plenty here that will be useful. I was diagnosed with both coeliac disease and IBS over twenty years ago and it’s fuelled my passion for helping others ever since. I’m keen to raise awareness about gluten so people can be feel safe and relax.

1. I’m an experienced speaker and writer, regularly appearing on BBC radio and often

speaking at events in London, Bristol and Bath including the FreeFrom Food Festival, the Allergy & FreeFrom Show and Coeliac UK.

2. My online courses are packed with valuable advice and straightforward strategies. I firmly believe there is a way to make life easier, no matter how difficult things might seem.

3. I’ve written for Gluten-Free Heaven magazine for 5 years.

4. Look me up on Instagram - it's where I post a lot about gluten-free events, new products and news you'll want to know about.

5. Often out running, I did the 2023 London Marathon to raise money for Coeliac UK and yes, I did it dressed as a banana.

Getting special attention?

Please.

Let's get the narrative straight 👌

When you're diagnosed with a food intolerance, allergy or condition like coeliac disease, it's not common for people to weaponise it against family and friends to get preferential treatment.

Most of the time, we're made to feel awkward and guilty 😟

What they're talking about in this clip is a very real issue but I wish they'd clarified it's NOT about getting a medically restricted diet and instead very much about the type of person whose behaviour's a howling dog.

What's a howling dog?

He's a dog who's sitting on a thorn.
Why doesn't he get up?
He can't be bothered.

Let me know below your thoughts on this clip.

Check out these fab gluten-free offers!

I didn't mean to go to so many shops today but after watching the London Marathon, I decided I desperately needed the latest Runners' World magazine.

But everyone must've been thinking the same thing because nowhere had a copy (except for Sainsbury's but it was twinned with Men's Health for a tenner & I didn't fancy paying that much).

So OF COURSE I cruised the freefrom section in each shop and here's what I found:

selling the new chocolate gf cereal from & new from
Maxi-breaks

selling gf white rolls for just 60p!

I'm not paid to say this but I had to share it with you...

Pizza. Real pizza. The kind you remember before going gluten-free.

Seriously!

A base that tastes like it's made from fresh dough.
And a pizza sauce that is SO GOOD 😄

It's from at Bristol's totally gluten-free in Document, BS5.

And guess what?

It's on all day tomorrow so you'll be able to get some, too!

I bought 2 pizza bases because I know they'll be eaten quickly 😋

Actually, I really should have bought more. Good job doors open at 10am 😅

Did you go today? What did you buy?

Yep. Gluten-free. (Shame I hate Marmite 🤣)Will you try it?

✅️ 70p off all packs! ✅️

Practically everything is on discount, including gluten-free biccies, bread and cereal.

But obviously the Tim Tams were my first grab ❤️

(N.B. Better race there to get them...I swiped three packets 🤣)

You won't believe how good this entirely gluten-free bakery is! 😋

🇬🇧 (Or maybe you will because you went there for its recent London opening?)

I finally made the trip to .paris today in Covent Garden to see what all the fuss was about.

Firstly, the line-up of bakes looks absolutely mouthwatering 😄

Upsides 😁

There's so much choice - from massive sandwiches to cheesy toasties, cinnamon twists, brownies, giant biscuits and beautiful cakes worthy of the very best patisserie.

I opted for a pistachio croissant, partly because some of the bakes had oats in (I react to gluten-free oats) and partly because the prices were in line with what one expects in London and a croissant was one of the less expensive things going (still nearly cost £8, mind).

Taste-wise, the croissant was delicious. Flaky, crispy pastry and an oozy pistachio crème filling.

Downsides 😭

The person serving me picked up my pastry with bare fingers and put it on a tray that hadn't been wiped down. I figured since everything was gluten-free I'd be ok, but as someone who's worked in hospitality, I'd have quickly pulled them up on it had I been their manager.

Also, the staff weren't the quickest and things could have been a bit more efficient (there wasn't a queue but I still had to wait).

Logistics:

🌍 V easy to get to from the tube
🍴 There's a tiny seating area inside but I chose to take my croissant away with me
✅️ Expect to pay £12 for a 🥪
