Something to think about - but not for too long! ๐๐คช
We are all victims of this - holding onto negative thoughts and obsessing over the โwhat ifsโโฆ
One of the strongest lessons I have learned through yoga is that your thoughts are not always true. Just because you might think something, doesnโt mean itโs always true.
Have you ever noticed that during moments of conflict, drama, heated arguments, disagreements etc, that your brain will be thinking one thing (ie, location A) - and then all of a sudden your brain takes you forward 10 steps ahead of time (ie, location J)โฆ.but what about all the steps and locations in between? ๐ค Is location J the truth? Or is it just a thought your brain conjured up, making you believe itโs true? ๐ค Maybe, we should stop, pause, and look at the steps and locations along the wayโฆ
Or maybe, just maybe - we DONโT give the thought the power it thinks it deserves. ๐ฅ
One of the best teachings in yoga within our modern world, is to learn to let go. Itโs not always easy - some situations are easier to let go of than others.
But the moment we start to detach from a negative thought, the lighter you feel, and the more power YOU have, not your thought.
๐ Steps to help let go:
๐ Pause
๐ Take 3 deep breathes
๐ Reflect on how you feel now? If you still feel the weight of the thought, close your eyes and take another 3 slooooow deep breaths.
๐ Feeeel the breath and your body
๐ Walk away, literally
This has helped me more than you could ever know โค๏ธ
