Exciting opportunity available!!

We at Sussex motorsport are searching for a fast, determined and eager driver to get behind the wheel with us in the 2026 city car cup and Student Motorsport Championship.

Student motorsport offers a whole range of benefits including;

Professional technical support to your car so you can focus entirely on performance,

Enhanced media presence from joining a university student ran team which also benefits from social media marketing with the championship

Two championships in one, the glory of fighting for not only 1 set of podiums but 2. 2 times the trophies, 2 times the fastest lap and 2 times the quality of drivers.

We are looking for drivers or a driver with a race ready car for the championship.

A full season's budget will be required.

With exciting races and a packed grid, this is a great way to gain experience in motorsport and enjoy it at the same time

You’ll be joining a dedicated team of university students across all 7 rounds at 5 different race tracks.

Data engineers for driver feedback and setup alterations

Mechanics to ensure the car is safe and in tip top shape

Post weekend debriefs to find that extra 10% of speed and efficiency.

We have had an amazing second year in the championship with some highs and lows but our hard work has paid off with an award for our commercial activity and with our driver getting P2 rookie. 

This really is a testament to our whole team's hard work and dedication this season and everybody who has supported us in our goals of achieving excellence.

Aaaand that's the season wrapped! 🏁

This final round at Silverstone saw both our drivers slowly gain traction as the weekend progressed.

The performance instabilities plaguing Alex's car during Croft were less prominent this weekend - more attention was paid to tackling bodywork damage on both cars from various t-bones and shunts through the races on Sunday.

We battled buckled rims, tyre imbalances, drum brake resistances, a badly dented door on #42, a fuse cover disappearing from #47, and a few spins and meetings with the gravel trap.

The new split-team strategy, with 5 or 6 people working on specific areas of each car, meant we worked efficiently and got more consistent with our own task lists.

We also came 3rd in the Student Motorsport Pitstop Challenge - a huge improvement over last year.

Aaaand that's the season wrapped! This final round at Silverstone saw both our drivers slowly gain traction as the weekend progressed.

Solid reflections from both our drivers after qualifying. Toby's eyeing up the top 15 positions for race 1, where he's likely to climb up a few. Alex felt positive and did well to get a P12 purely off pace and no slipstreaming, but worries it's a hard climb to gain positions with a lot of long straight corners. He's on the inside of the track for race 1, so we're hopeful🤞

*Correction - Toby achieved P22 not P21.

RACE DAY!

We have had a wonderful time here at Silverstone so far. Made the most of the free day we had to replace the radiator to ensure the car performs well and we are now ready and raring to get racing.

We're all looking forward to the busy day of qualifying and racing today and we're sure our driver, is just exited as we are especially after our first podium last time.

We’re dusting off the cobwebs for our pre-season test with & Toby :)

It was great to get back into the rhythm and get accustomed to running two cars which is a fu***ng fantastic feeling !

We’ve still got a lot to do to get to the front but we leave this test feeling good and with our heads held high.

A massive thank you to the team, whom without their continued effort we wouldn’t reach this.

The final piece of our 2025 driver lineup is here - Welcome Toby Owen to the team!

Toby finished an impressive P9 in the championship last year. With this experience in the team, the future is looking very bright! He and Alex will be instrumental in our fight towards the front of the pack - Let’s get pushing 💪

The season’s right around the corner. We’ll take everything with us, and leave it all on track. 2025 starts here 🏁
