Achieve your aim, train with Jermayne I don’t think there’s a better way of encapsulating what a career in fitness means to me. Fitness isn’t just a way of life – it is my life. Even while I was studying Graphic Design at uni I worked as a lifeguard and fitness instructor in my spare time. An injury that resulted in a bionic hip put paid to pretty serious dreams of a career in professional footballer, but I didn’t let it stop my fitness journey. Martial arts renewed my relationship with my body and I excelled in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Capoeira, and Judo, as well as boxing. For me it’s not just about the physical discipline and form, it’s also the mental wellness that comes from training. It’s something that I instil in everyone that I train, the balance between mental and physical disciplines, because by training both you don’t just get the best results, you get long lasting, consistent results, which I believe is the ultimate aim of any PT. Consistency is key and that really comes down to mindset, so I focus on that just as much as I do on the right form, the best exercises, and nutritional education. Combine all that and you get the kind of results my clients get one after the other. If you want to work with me at Bodytone Personal Training then I’m always down to chat through your goals and needs. We have three different services:

Monthly Workout Plans – for when you don’t want 121 personal training but you do want a helping hand and some routine

Accountability Coaching – get an exercise routine, nutritional advice, and me keeping you accountable through our bespoke training app. Workout in your own time but have my support 24/7

Personal Training – 121 or group PT sessions at a training studio in Hove, or in the comfort of your home. Whatever you need, I’ve got you. Future goals for me? The next step will be to get my own Bodytone Personal Training studio space. It’s something I’m actively working towards, bit by bit, making my way towards the next business finish line. It’s the same consistent dedication I teach my clients – you’ve got to practice what you preach! Oh, and fun fact? Adele was at my 7th birthday party. Her mum was good friends with my auntie and apparently she used to fancy me when I was younger. Who knows, maybe there’s even a song on an album dedicated to me somewhere ;)

Every time
Went in for one thing and somehow came out with the whole cupboard
Please tell me it’s not just me

Think you’re eating well? Try keeping a food diary for a week and see what actually happens.

Writing down what you eat gives you awareness, and awareness gives you something you can actually change. You might spot that you’re not getting enough protein, portions have crept up without you noticing, weekends are undoing all the progress from the week, or there are snacks you’re barely even registering.

Don’t guess. Get the information first, then make better decisions.

Only got 30 minutes to train? That’s plenty.

You don’t need to skip your workout just because time’s tight. Supersets are the move here, pair two exercises together and knock them out back to back before you rest.

Grab a pair of dumbbells and try this at home:

Superset 1
Goblet squat + Romanian deadlift

Superset 2
Dumbbell floor press + dumbbell row

Superset 3
Seated shoulder press + bicep curl

10 to 12 reps each, 3 rounds, resting 45 to 60 seconds after each superset.

You don’t need an hour to get a proper session in. Just make the time you’ve got work harder.

Save this for the next time your day gets away from you.

And that was the end of the evening
Anyone else make this mistake?

Perfect week vs good enough week.
We started off with a goal of 4 workouts a week for one of my clients.
But once we realised 2 was more sustainable for him, we made the call to go for that instead, even knowing progress might take a little longer.
Because the goal was never to hit a number. It was to build something he’d actually stick with, not something he does for a few weeks and then stops.
Sustainable beats perfect, every time.
This is exactly what The BODYTONE Score is built to catch, not whether you hit an arbitrary number, but whether your week is actually working for you. Take it, link in bio.

One week. A few different versions of me.
Training in the gym. Filming content at home. Some time at the driving range. Coaching a client in the studio. Building the new website. And a Sunday lunch to bring it all home.

This is the part people miss about coaching. It was never about choosing fitness over everything else. It’s about building a body and a routine that can actually keep up with a full life, whatever that week throws at you.
That’s the whole point of BODYTONE.

You might not need more motivation. You might just need a better plan.

Most of the people I work with aren’t starting from zero. They’re already training. They’re already trying to eat well. They care about their health.

They just aren’t seeing the progress they feel they should be seeing.

And when you’re running a business or building a career, the last thing you need is another area of your life to research and figure out.

What exercises should I be doing. How many sets and reps. Am I training hard enough. When should I increase the weight. Is what I’m eating actually supporting my goal.

Sometimes you don’t need to try harder. You need someone to look at what you’re already doing and show you where it can improve.

That’s a big part of what I do through BODYTONE. I take away the guesswork and help you level up what you’re already doing, so your fitness fits around your life instead of becoming another thing to manage.

Already training but not getting the results you want? Send me a message.

You don’t need an hour in the gym to get a good workout in.
If you’ve only got 30 minutes between meetings, you can still get plenty done.
One training method I use with clients like law firm owners and founders is supersets.
That means performing two exercises back to back before taking your rest.
It gets more work done in less time, which matters when your calendar doesn’t leave room for two hour gym sessions.
This is exactly why I built BODYTONE around fitting into a demanding life, not competing with it.

Do you know what a superset is?
And when you’re pushed for time, what do you normally do with your training?

No gym doesn’t mean no workout.

If you’re short on time and training from home, try this simple full-body session.

Squats 10–15 reps
Push-ups 8–15 reps
Reverse lunges 8–12 each leg
Bent-over rows 10–15 reps
Mountain climbers 30 seconds

Complete 3–4 rounds and rest 60–90 seconds between rounds.

You don’t need an hour in the gym every day to make progress.

Sometimes 20 focused minutes is exactly what you need.

Save this one for a busy day.

We’ve all done it. One healthy meal, one good workout, one good day, then straight to the mirror to see if anything’s changed.
Unfortunately it doesn’t quite work like that.
Your results come from what you do consistently over weeks and months, not what you do perfectly for one day.
You don’t need every meal to be perfect. You don’t need every workout to be perfect. You just need enough good days stacked together over time.
Stop looking for overnight results and focus on building habits you can actually maintain.
