Now the league has finished it was so nice to get a game again. Welcoming new comers to the league Ryde Rooks. Some very nice football played and a win for Brighstone with some really nice possessional play at times.

MASSIVE shout out to Jeremy Fisk for rolling and aerating the football pitch this morning.

After the dry weather and periodic rain we’ve had it’s the perfect time to get this job done and having Jeremy around the corner with his big spiked roller is perfect for the job!!!

You’ll notice slits in the pitch. This is totally normal 👍
Aerating helps break down the compaction of soil, improves drainage, allows vital oxygen, water, and nutrients to pe*****te deep into the roots which promotes a stronger, greener, and more resilient pitch. (Hopefully)

Pitch will be painted tomorrow and the lads have a friendly Sunday morning 👍

Lads smashed it this morning. 12 miles in 5 and a half hours. Great way to raise funds for the hospice along with everyone else who joined.

BUT!!! It’s not for us, we’re joining the thousands of walkers raising money for the Isle of Wight’s Hospice,Earl Mountbatten

So, let’s change those footballs for sunflowers and help them raise as much as we can for vital services that we have all had or may have or wish would be there if we ever needed it.

My ability to get a team photo sucks so here’s a photo of some clouds taken just seconds ago.

The lads enjoyed an afternoon at the Paul Westby tournament at the county show ground yesterday.
Kudos to Gurnard Youth FC putting the event on!!

Brighstone entered two teams into the 6 a side tournament which left us too-ing and throwing between pitches.

Some wins, some draws and some losses. Lessons learnt, memories made and an afternoon with the football family was great.

Note to self. Take more photos next season!!
