🌿 Help Us Rebuild Our Viking Village 🌿

Following the recent storm, our Viking village has suffered significant damage. A large tree was uprooted and crashed through the roof of one house, and another building was left with broken structural beams. Parts of the village are currently unsafe and in urgent need of repair.

Our village is based at Brockswood Animal Sanctuary in the West Midlands. Every structure has been built by hand using traditional methods and is used for education, heritage, and community events.

We’ve set up a GoFundMe to help cover the cost of repairs and materials so the village can be restored safely and properly.

Any donation, no matter how small, will make a real difference. If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this post to help spread the word.

We were proud to fly the Hrafn banner at the amazing Halesowen Carnival & Music Festival 🐦‍⬛ ⚔️ 🪓

Not just fights between members, but we had many children raiding the Viking camp to take on our warriors! They were all fearless! Tag us or post any pictures/videos in the comments 👇🏻

Last weekend we used our village for private group training! Some members and good friends from the mighty ÓÐR HIRD were also able to join us in a day of battles, sweat and steel 🗡️🛡️

With the solstice fast approaching, we celebrate an early harvest and milestone for the Hrafnsaeti village; our first crop!! Garlic, onions, turnips, peas, strawberries and ruby chard!
We've also started on the garden patch, to continue to grow our herbs and even some dyeing plants for future projects!

A massive well done to our girls, Jamie and Tash, for all the hard work they've put into this project!

Only 11 weeks until BLOODSTOCK and the VIKINGS OF Blodorn Englar and Hrafn Vaeringi are getting prepared to battle!

The VIKINGS OF BLODORN ENGLAR AND HRAFN VAERINGI will be bringing full-contact medieval carnage to The Battle Arena! This isn’t re-enactment, this is war!

⚔️ The Battle Of Bloodstock commences at 12:30pm Fri - Sun. Forget scripted battles and polite choreography, these warriors don’t pull their punches.. Real armour. Real weapons (blunted, but only just). Metal on metal, the clash of steel, splintering of shields.. and yes, the occasional chair! There are no staged duels, this is feral, adrenaline-fuelled combat, where every clash is a test of raw power and iron will. Heavy metal meets hardened steel.

This is a full-contact sport that brings the brutality of the Dark Ages into the modern arena — fought under strict rules and rigorously marshalled to ensure safety and fairness. Across the weekend, you’ll witness a series of high-impact events:

⚔️ Holmgang (1 vs. 1) – Duel to dominate. One fighter leaves standing.

🛡 Team Bridge Fights (5 vs. 5) – Shield walls clash and bodies hit the dirt. The aim? Take down the entire enemy team.

☠️ The Circle of Treachery (All vs. All) – No allies. No rules. Just chaos. The last warrior standing is crowned Champion of Bloodstock.

Combat is scored much like fencing, clean strikes count, precision matters, and it’s all about dominance and survival. In team fights, once you're down, you're out. Shield up. Eyes forward. The Battle of Bloodstock returns!

BLOODSTOCKers will also have the chance to meet the warriors of the Blodorn and Hrafn up close and personal. Stop and talk to the Vikings and take your photo with them. They are happy to answer questions about their weaponry, armour, and the history of the Viking Age as well as using their carefully honed skills to claim glory on the battlefield. These warriors are fully immersed in the history and attitudes of the Northmen of a thousand years ago.

We will be hosting one of our living history events. This means our village is open to the public Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th.

Come and meet our members, see the village, crafts, weapon/armour and combat displays. This is a great opportunity for people of all ages to learn about life and war in the Viking age.

If you have been thinking about joining our Varangian Guard and fighting alongside us, this is a perfect opportunity to meet the group and get additional information.

We had a brilliant time meeting everyone at our last event, and we are excited to welcome everyone again this weekend, so stop by and say Hi! 👋🏻

This weekend our friends Grimnar - The Masked Ones were at our village for a weekend of combat with us ⚔️

Although this was a private event not open to the public, we wanted to share the pictures and videos from the weekend across our platforms.

Grimnar are dedicated to studying and simulating authentic combat styles from the viking age, quite different from eastern, western or huscarl fighting.
