My 19-year-old son has gone on his first boys’ holiday abroad. ✈️☀️

As a mum, I’m feeling all the emotions. One minute I’m excited for him to make memories, have adventures, and enjoy this new chapter of independence. The next, I’m worrying about everything and wondering if he’s remembered his passport, sun cream, and to stay safe!

I know letting go is part of parenting and helping our children spread their wings, but it doesn’t stop us from worrying. Being a mum means a piece of your heart is walking around outside of your body.

To all the parents sending their young adults off on adventures this summer… you’re not alone. 💙

Well, today has definitely tested my patience! 🚗😅

I’ve spent a lot of time sitting in traffic this morning, during the day, and again this evening. It’s amazing how quickly stress can build when you’re stuck and unable to do much about it.

Rather than letting it get the better of me, I decided to head out for a gentle run. 🏃‍♀️💚

It wasn’t about speed, distance, or setting any records. It was simply about getting outside, moving my body, clearing my head, and taking some time for myself.

Exercise is one of the ways I manage stress, but we’re all different. Some people walk, meditate, read, garden, listen to music, or spend time with friends and family.

I’m curious…
