The horse world has lost a true legend.

Thank you, Monty Roberts, for changing my approach to equine training all those years ago. Your belief that understanding, communication and trust should come before force reshaped not only the way I work with horses, but also my own journey of self-awareness and personal development.

Your willingness to challenge long-held traditions inspired generations of horsemen and horsewomen to listen more closely, think more deeply, and strive to earn a horse’s trust rather than demand its obedience. In many ways, it also taught me to pause, reflect, and respond rather than react — both in the saddle and in life.

Every horse whose life has been made a little kinder because of your work is part of your extraordinary legacy.

Thank you for the knowledge you shared so generously, the compassion you championed, and the countless lives, both human and equine, that you changed.

Rest easy, Monty. Your legacy will live on every time someone chooses patience over pressure, understanding over force, and partnership over dominance.

✨ Every horse deserves to begin their career with confidence. ✨

This beautifully bred young mare, owned by a professional show jumper, had made it clear that loading was not her thing. Her owner recognised how important those early experiences are and wanted to ensure she started her journey in a calm, positive and stress-free way.
Using natural horsemanship principles and a horse-centred approach that focuses on the horse’s understanding of the task at hand, the mare soon realised that the lorry was actually a great place to be. After just one session, she was loading quietly, willingly and happily, turning what had been a source of worry into a calm and positive experience.

The best training solutions are not about force or speed. They are about communication, understanding and creating lasting confidence, so that horses can go forward into their careers relaxed and ready to thrive.

It was a pleasure to help this talented young mare take one more confident step towards her future, and great to hear that she loaded first time every time
going forward. 🐴💫

A highly productive and enjoyable day in the sun today with some of my super clients! The day started with a couple of ridden and groundwork lessons over in Chesterfield, followed by another ridden lesson in Owler Bar. Then it was back to the Hope Valley to school a lovely gelding, before finally doing some groundwork with my own Blagdon Toyboy and Master Brown. Summer is finally here! 😎
Fully booked now for the rest of the week, but some limited availability next weekend.
