After forming 6yrs ago that’s a wrap for founder/gaffer Chris Corsbie-Smith in vets management.

In his and the teams last ever game together they put in a fantastic performance to beat Fakenham last night.

From the off B&M were always razor focused and in control. First goal came from a run down the wing by Luis Gibbons who then provided a fantastic ball across the box for Karl Pask to finish.

2nd goal came 10mins from HT Luke Dagg rounding 2 players in the box to then slide the ball under the incoming goalie.

HT 0-2 B&M

2nd half there wasn’t as many chances but the 3rd came from the penalty spot, again from Pask after Dagg was fouled in the area.

0-3 the game was well and truly over. A lapse of concentration near the death gave Fakenham a free kick on the edge of our box, which was well curled over the wall into the corner.

FT 1-3 B&M

Both our teams fixtures are now done, First team proudly finishing 3rd in the Premier League and they had a run in the cup to the Qtr Final.

B&M FC have decided to go with 2 Saturday teams next year and NO vets, so sadly that is it, this vets group will fold after 6yrs.

Club Statement -

After forming the vets 6yrs ago in 2020, 70+ games, promotions from the One Broker bottom vets League to the vets Premiership, supporting the build of a successful reserve team and a club transition, our first team manager Chris Corsbie-Smith will be stepping down from managing the first team at the end of this season.

Corsbie -

“ After setting the vets up 6yrs ago just to carry on playing football after I stopped playing Saturdays I never thought I’d still be here.

The success we’ve had from day 1 on the pitch has been fantastic. From starting in the bottom League to getting to the Premiership and then building a successful reserves off the back of so many players wanting to join has been special. I’m proud to say that we are 1 of only 2 clubs that has 2 teams in the top 2 leagues.

Outside of the success on the pitch the biggest achievement for me is the culture we achieved as a group. We have always been there for each other through tough times and players in the past have said that vets is what they looked forward to in difficult times in their life. That for me is what I’m most proud of, the bond between the players and guys wanting to be apart of that culture we created.

I’d like to say a huge thank you to EVERY player that’s ever played for me, to Yaxham Football Club who aloud me to start the journey, Bradenham and Mattishall Football Club who enabled me to transition across, all of the sponsors over the years (there has been lots) and all of the people that have supported and watched.

My last game will be against the best vets team of my time, Cringleford at Bradenham on my birthday Sun 17th May, I’d live to see current and old players join me on the day for a send off 🍻

Yesterday our Firsts entertained Cromer Firsts in the League.

First half was a cagey affair with both teams battling hard to score. The game was unlocked after 20mins when a Matt Rowley corner came off the top of a Cromer defenders head and into the back of the net.

HT 1-0

Second half B&M really upped the tempo and were creating chance after chance with the 2nd coming from Karl Pask.

As Cromer tired B&M were finding more and more space and the 3rd came from a Jason Cole follow up 3-0.

10mins after B&M got a free kick on the edge of the Cromer box, Pask stepped up with a sweet strike to make it 4-0 and his 2nd of the game.

B&M looked very comfortable going late into the game but maybe to comfortable, a lack of concentration saw Cromer nick the ball to counter and score 5mins from time 4-1

The result has kept us in 2nd and just 3pts off top spot, all still to play for 🏆
