Not many things in football are more annoying than seeing teams post “Trialist A” and then massively overhype a pre-season result…
…so we thought we’d have a go at both. 😂
Let’s be honest, vets pre-season probably shouldn’t even exist. Half the squad are still sat in their Speedos in Benidorm, another quarter are pretending they’ve “done a calf” after 20 minutes, and everyone else is checking if Deep Heat counts as aftershave.
With 9 of our new signings announced this week unavailable, there was still plenty to be pleased about. The Zebra Kid marked his Taverners debut with a hat-trick, although unfortunately for Roy Bevis those goals won’t be added to his modest tally of 10,273,638 local goals… this one doesn’t count! 🤣
A special mention to Trialist A, who definitely caught the eye today. It’s been great to see players from higher divisions showing an interest in joining the Tavs, and if today’s performance is anything to go by, he certainly didn’t disappoint.
A big thank you to Salhouse for the game and for their hospitality. We wish them all the best for the season ahead. 🤝
Finally, spare a thought for the physios and masseurs across Norfolk… blazing sunshine, an artificial pitch and a load of ageing footballers is a combination that should probably be banned under the Geneva Convention. 🌞🥵😂
